Hey ladies! My FH and I are trying to save money and stay local for the honeymoon. Does anyone know of any ski resorts that are nice?
I don't know how local you mean, but FH and I drive up to Okemo in VT each winter and it is amazing! good restaurants around, nice accommodations and excellent trails. HTH
hunter mountain has a great cabin right at the base of the mountain, and the rooms are beautiful. FH and i go there about 3 times a year ( he also does the ski races w the fdny up there too!) Its close too, only 3 hours from long island.
Stratton in Vermont has a cozy lodge feeling. So luxurious!!!

you can go to Vermont and stay at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel... I've never personally stayed there but my Aunt and Uncle did once and they said it's very nice! It's right on the mountain so you don't even have to travel far for the skiing.

There is also Mountain Green Resorts which is a little more up the road from the mountain (but still in walking/shuttle bus distance to the mountain). My family stays here everytime we go and we like it. This is probably a little less expensive than the other one.

Killington or Wyndham
My parents went to Bampf and Lake Louise in Canada a few years ago and raved about it! They stayed at the Fairmount Springs Hotel!!
The Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT is very nice too. I also love Killington, VT. Or Lake Winnepasauke in NH has lots of nice hotels and is right near skiing.
Killington's definitely my favorite local mountain--the best trails by far!
