How do I fix this? Also, why do they say to use moisterizer anyway?

Re: Skin care question
I also have very oily skin and went to the dermatologist on tuesday and she gave me a topical called erythrymycin..something like that..it is drying up my skin big time..but its prescription. I was using merle Norman shine control..that stuff works like magic...the only reason I went to the derm is because my face is been breaking out like Im in purberty thankgod this topical cleared it all right up! Dr. told me that when women hit their 30's their hormones change...so she thinks thats what is happening to me..Im 33..so hopefully my hornmones will calm the hell down!

Re: Skin care question
low alcohol based toner and clay masks (2 -3 x a week) will definetly help. also, make sure you are using all oil-free products. moisturizer is needed to hydrate the skin(even oily skin).

Re: Skin care question
Def. try Cetaphil. I have very oily skin, but I have to moisturize anyway, otherwise my skin will get flaky when I try to put on makeup. Supposedly, if you over-dry your skin using toners and masks, it will compensate by pumping out more oil. So use moisturizer, but use one specifically made for oily skin.

Re: Skin care question
you want to use moisterizer b/c sometimes your skin is over compensating and therefore producing too much oil.

Question for you ladies, I live upstate so not sure if it is my water or not, but does this stuff not foam to much? Mine only foams a little and not sure if it is the water.

Re: Skin care question
It's meant to be low foam, I think it says it right on the bottle. Don't know what the benefit of that is, though.

Re: Skin care question
I like my face to feel squeeky clean! I use Neutrogena clay masks once a week and it seems to help the oil...Though my face is still oily sometimes Going on orthotricyclen helped it quite a bit...

It doesnt foam much but my face always feels so clean afterwards. It removes my makeup good also.

Re: Skin care question
I'm also planning to try Cetaphil, but I've had good luck with Noxzema's Triple Clean Antibacterial lathering cleanser -- the one in a tube, not the old school blue jar. My skin has been pretty clear (but not too dried out) since I started using it.

I work in skin care. The girls advice above is right on the money. Cetaphil is very good. Try that!
