Skipping Boutonnieres?

At the last wedding I went to with my FH, towards the end of the night, the groom's boutinniere looked like it was dying. The groomsmen were so busy running around that the flowers were upside down, falling off, etc.

I was thinking of just skipping them altogether. I personally don't love that flower on lapel look anyways.

Do you think it would be a big deal if I just skip them?

What about doing a decorative 'pocket square' instead? I am considering skipping them myself, I hate seeing pics and the groomsmen have upside down roses on their lapels. Looks weird to me!

I am TOTALLY skipping. I think its a waste of $$. The men don't like it, they don't look good, and they die. Thats $$ I can spend on pina coladas on the HM!

How about a fake one? Im doing real but would it be too obvious to go there's fake??
