Skylight room at JT?!?!

I booked the Skylight room and went there the other day and when I saw all of the tables set up...I felt like room looked so crammed and small. I felt so disappointed :( Anyone have their reception in that room...if so, how many tables did you have and did your room feel small??

i used the skylight room but i used the whole room which holds 400ppl i think when they do this its called skylight terrace. I had 275 guests and 22 tables and had plenty of room. I am guessing youre using half the room when they put up a partition. What is your min?

also how many guests were at the event you saw and how many are you having? are you going to have the same amount of tables as this event had?

I am having 140 minimum but it'll prob be around 150 showing up. The guy said that 'the room was set up to max' which he said was for 180 people. My jaw literally dropped, it looked like there would be no room for people to even walk, and there was a table set up on part of the dance floor. I'm just so confused, b/c I felt like the room was so much bigger :(

the room is ALOT bigger but they probably showed it to you without the partition put up so thats why you are probably confused. THey should've told you a partition goes up when they use it for a wedding about 150 ppl which is usually around the amount of ppl they recommend for it when its split in half.

BUT also keep in mind that 30 ppl does make a difference, thats 3 less tables so if the room was set up for 180 ppl and youre having 150 which you wont even know for sure until closer to the wedding, then there will be more space

did they tell you this though? i would hope that if you booked that room they would've showed you the room but tell you to keep in mind that you are only using half of the room. So sorry you are disappointed. But like i said, you are having less guests than the event you saw. Try to picture the room set up the way you saw it and think if 3 tables less would make you feel better, if so try to focus on that. Plus if you have a little under 150 then maybe you will even have 4 less tables which can make a huge difference.

Re: Skylight room at JT?!?!

Everytime I went to see the room, it was always set up for a ceremony... so I never got to see the room with tables and immediately fell in LOVE! I thought the room was so big at the time... it's not their fault... but I wish it didn't look so crammed. Thank you for being so understanding!! I really appreciate it :) Now, I'm starting to think of people who don't need to come to the wedding so that I can have less tables lol

yeah for the ceremony not sure if they use the whole room or not. Honestly, since the room is split in half and is actually bigger than it is, ask them if its possible to extend it by a little bit to give you more space just in case. Hopefully it works out and you'll have less tables, dont worry about it now.

Hopefully they can help you. I mean the room was pretty big when they use the whole room, it fits up to 400ppl so maybe they can work with you. Although i say less than 400 bc i had 275 guests and it was just perfect, too many more tables would've been a bit much. They always tell you a higher max
