slammed door on finger, need advice!

Hi ladies!
So, last night I slammed the front door on my finger, or rather, right at the base of my nail bed. It is really bruised right there, and still hurts. I have acrylic wraps on. I don't usually have them, I got them for the wedding a month a go, and have kept them up because they look nice, and I have a couple of other weddings coming up. I am due for a fill-in today or tomorrow, but do you think that is safe with the bruise? Should I just have them soaked off altogether? I did want to keep them because I have a wedding a week from Sunday. Any advice? My gut tells me to just take them off, let the injured nail breathe, but the rest of my nails will be so awfully thin from having the wraps on. Also, I'm scared it will hurt. This is the place I always turn to for words of wisdom, please help!
Thanks!

OUCH !!! I would have them just fill in the space and avoid any filing or that machine they use to file and just paint it...
if they soak it they still need to pick it off from your nail bed
it doesnt completely come off when you soak it. The pain should go away in a few days...hope all works out!

thank you! I was going to go today and ask their opinion, but now I do think I'll wait a day or 2. I'm just scared it might get infected with acrylic over it. Any docs or nurses?

OUch, sorry to hear that! I know acrylic is bad, that's why I'm scared to keep this on with the bruise under it -- I don't want it to get infected!

I have no real experience for good advice for you, im just wondering if you wanted to keep them up if you should just go get the fill in on the other nails and leave that one alone for now. Maybe get it taken care of in a week or so when it starts to heal.. Although hopefully its not so bad where the nail falls off.

ALWAYS listen to your gut... Hope it heals quickly!

As long as you keep your nails neat - don't worry about them being thin for the wedding.

DH will have to suffer without the awesome back scratches he must have been getting though.
