So... FH and I are still searching for the right place for our wedding (we have been to well over 12 RHs). Last night we went to the place that we thought was going to be IT. Of course the venue was not what we thought it was going to be. The woman there was definitely awesome, she seems more like a wedding planner, which we were really liking. However, it really just wasn't what we are looking for. I feel like we are starting to run out of options and I am so nervous that we are going to have to post-pone the wedding a few months so that we can have it at the place we want. I guess that wouldn't be too bad, I just feel like I'm ready to be MRS already! Needless to say I did not sleep well last night. I fell asleep around 3am and woke up around 6:45.... NOT condusive to a productive work day, and of course the schedule is packed and I'm not going to be able to rest tonight because we have to see more RHs... AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Re: SLEEP
Looked at: CHCC (multiple weddings at a time) Woodlands (old) Woodbury CC (heard everything from the other parties, multiple weddings at a time) Stewart Manor CC (too small scale) Museum of Art (too small) Old Westbury Gardens (too small) Floral Terrace (in the city, too crowded) Bridgeview Yacht Club (on the water) HWW (not quite what we were hoping for) Hempstead CC (have a sponsor) Garden City CC (have a sponsor)
**places we wont go b/c of other functions there before: North Ritz Club Sandcastle Fox Hollow
There were others that I don't even remember anymore!
We are looking for something that really gives that WOW factor. FH would love the CC feel but that doesn't always come with the most beautiful facilities. Tonight we are headed to Cedarbrook CC in Old Brookville - another CC we have a sponsor at. Then Sunday we have Bellport CC & GWM (tomorrow I have a shower & FH is going to hang out with HER FH). PULLING MY HAIR OUT!!!!! and ready to fall asleep!

Re: SLEEP
Well, if your FH is looking for a country club, I happen to think my hall is pretty gorgeous. Hamlet Willow Creek in Mt. Sinai.
How many people are you expecting? I thought the Hamlet in Commack was stunning as well. It was our 2nd choice, we just couldn't guarantee the amount of people they wanted for a Saturday night.

we are figuring between 125 and 150, likely closer to 150 - and I think that we can always add people onto the B-list (how horrible does that sound!). I had loved Majestic Gardens for the longest time but then rethought it that it was too far East, but now I am adding it back onto the list. I will be booking an apt to see them today, hopefully for Sunday, since we'll be out just south in Bellport earlier.

Re: SLEEP
don't stress ..... DH and I planned our entire wedding in 9 months ... and i know people who have done it in far less time. You will have plenty of time to have your dream wedding, in your dream RH, with your dream man
good luck!
ps: got married at Woodbury CC and didn't hear ANYTHING from the other party that was there (they do 2 max weddings at a time and you never see or hear anything from the other people) .... not sure if that makes a difference to you or not, but i just watned to share

Oh that's good that you are going to the Bellport CC, my family and I really like it there. My parents have been to some larger functions there and always enjoy themselves. I've only been to a monther's day brunch but it was fabulous!!!
My FSIL and FBIL had their wedding at Hamlet @ Willow Creek. It was an amazing time! The cocktail hr was in a beautiful room and the grounds are gorgeous! Food was also amazing!
I'm getting married at The Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowing College which is catered by Lessings. I know people outside of LIweddings who have used Lessings for their weddings and rave about them, along with people on this site as well. Why don't you check out the Lessings link on this site, there are a lot of venues that work with many budgets. I know that the Bourne Mansion (Lessings) is spectacular!
I've heard good things about the De Servesky center also but I don't really know too much about that venue.
