Sleep and Weight loss

Sleep and Weight loss

I need to lose some weight (10-15 pounds) but as much as I watch what I eat and drink and I work out a few times a week (cardio and weight) I think my problem is that I don't get enough rest. How can I get what I need?

are you having trouble getting to sleep? or getting into bed?

make sure not to have heavy meals for dinner...cut alcohol and caffeine down...set a bedtime for yourself...

Re: Sleep and Weight loss

I think it is a little bit of both. I work in the city and get home much later than those who work on LI, so I find myself trying to do things during the evening and before I know it it is 12AM and I need to get up at 6:30. And then because I was tired earlier, but I got a second wind, I am awake until almost 1AM.

I don't eat late at night and don't drink caffeine in the evening (have actually drastically cut back my caffeine and replaced it with plain water) but I still have trouble. Sometimes I get up a few times feeling like a need to urinate, but I don't. Ugh! I need to sleep more to lose weight, but it feels like an uphill battle

I think you should see your Doctor...sounds like something is imbalanced....maybe he/she can give you a physical. I don't mean to worry you! I just mean maybe, you need to change your diet or do something different which will lead you back to a normal sleep cycle.

I have a gyno appt in a few weeks, so maybe I will ask why I feel the urinating sensation. I heard there is something to this.

I was in bed by midnight last night. I am going to try again tonight.
