Are any of you girls on sleeping meds like Ambien? I feel like talking to my doc about my sleeping issues. I just cant sleep at night. I took a nice nap while FH and I were watching TV earlier today. But at night is when I have problems. I think its all the anxiety from wedding planning, leaving my job, my music career. When I sit alone, I think of EVERYTHING. I think I need meds! I want a semi-normal sleep schedule back!

I take ambien, only when I'm really struggling to get to sleep...Control release is good IMO, the other type made me drousy in the morning...

Re: Sleeping Meds
i have the same problem, im not as bad as i used to be but even on weekdays when i have to wake up at 6am the next day i still usually sleep around 1am but like i said its not that bad anymore...I used to be a true insomniac and seriously 3am used to be early for me.
Basically its just really getting yourself used to a routine

Yeah I might look into Ambien. I dont know. I do have to get myself back on a routine. I guess it did get worse when I started working nights again. But like right now, Im really tired and when I try and lay down, I just lie there! FH closes his eyes and he's asleep in 10 seconds. It takes me at least an hour of just laying there before anything happens! I think its cause Im 'trying' to sleep. I cant just relax.

Re: Sleeping Meds
hi. i took ambien for really most of this year. for some reason i could never sleep and it was making me crazy so my doctor gave it to me. a couple of months ago i decided i would try to stop taking it and now i can sleep through the entire night without it. i think it may help you get back into a sleeping routine and from what i experienced it doesn't really have side effects. just make sure you don't take it until you are literally in bed b/c it kicks in fast!!

Ambien CR is very good. Doesn't leave you drowsy in the morning

Re: Sleeping Meds
FH takes Ambien CR. he just started taking it about 2 weeks ago and after the first night he said 'He felt like a new person'. He hasn't had a problem since he started taking them. I would ask your doctor.

i have really bad allergies, and i am an insomniac. so i take 2 benedryl before bed almost every night. If i didn't have allergies, i wouldn't do this... i don't recommend taking nyquil or benedryl only for sleeping purposes. OTC meds can be just as addictive as perscription drugs.
that being said, i think it depends on how many hours of sleep you get with the benedryl. Sometimes it doesnt put me to sleep at all, other times it knocks me out for a few hours and it's basically taking a nap. i feel like crap when that happens. but if i take it and get at least 6 hours of sleep, i feel fine in the morning.
yea... i'll stop rambling now.

Re: Sleeping Meds
I just take 1 tylenol pm.... if you take two you feel like $hit then next day.
1 is just enough to relax you a little so you can fall asleep. Two will knock your *** out.

Re: Sleeping Meds
I also have an issue with falling to sleep. My doctor does not like to prescribe sleep meds, but she did give me rozerum...which did not work at all!! It is an 'all natural' sleep aid. I gave up, and I went back to over the counter sleep meds. I know it isn't good for you for the long hall...but I need it sometimes.
