The past 4 days, Sophia has been going to sleep in her swing at about 7:30 each night - she sleeps till around 10 and then wakes up. I have been taking her to the bed then, nursing and eventually she goes back to sleep.
I have been calling this a 'nap', and thinking she actually goes to 'sleep' with me at around 10:30-11. I think I might be beginning to realize that she's going to SLEEP on some kind of SCHEDULE!!! MY Sophie you might say?!!? IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Could this be so early on? She's 2 months....The thing is she sleeps in bed with me (I know I know...) so shes in the swing until it's 'bedtime' for Mommy. Do you think I should give the bassinet another shot and put her down at 7:00 in there?

THANK YOU! I really enjoy it and it makes the nights a lot easier on me. We have a puppy, and too much up and down and moving around would mean no sleep for ANYBODY. I know many don't agree, but honestly I tried the bassinet and she just was crying too much. At my wits end, I took her in with me and now I am addicted to that little button face all peaceful when I wake!

Re: sleeping question
It's absolutely possible. Nicolas started showing US his schedule at around the same time. It took me a few days, or maybe even a week to realize that he was regulating his sleep.

Just wait till she starts hogging your pillow, you will be thrilled to get her into her own bed

Re: sleeping question
Maiah actually began sleeping through the night at 2 1/2 mos. She went down at 6 and slept straight through until 7am!!!!!!!!!! It is completely possible that your little girl is on her way to a good sleep schedule! I agree that you should never let anyone tell you that there is anything wrong with her sharing sleep with you. Maiah has been sleeping with mommy and daddy everynight since last summer. Although there are times when I wish I had a little more room in bed, I think we all sleep better knowing that she's cozy and happy. If you haven't read it yet, you should really pick up 'Nighttime Parenting' by Dr. William Sears. It made me stop second-guessing my approach towards, what he calls, 'attachment parenting.'

Re: sleeping question
I have a question, and please don't take it the wrong way, but I was just wondering...
Isn't it dangerous for the baby to sleep in the same bed with adults. Actually, one of my coworkers has an 11 month old and she sleeps with them as well. How does it work??? What about moving and rolling? or ya know, the good old sex?

My experience is that as soon as you think the baby is on a schedule, it changes shortly after that! At this point, do whatever works to meet yours and the baby's needs. I think you can keep trying the bassinet too.

People have really differing opinions on this. I have never felt it was dangerous. We removed any heavy comforters, our mattress is very firm, and we only use one pillow each. The baby sleeps maybe a foot below our 'pillow line', on her back, no covers. I don't use my covers either, so one whole side of the bed is uncovered. My husband doesn't find the arrangement to be as convenient as I do, but for me, I can just roll over and nurse her when she wakes up and go right back to sleep. Plus she's freaking ADORABLE in the middle of the night - all peaceful and quiet!

I think whatever works for you is great! I can't have little Madeleine sleep with my husband and I because we only have a full size bed and I can't sleep without any covers... It probably would make my like 1000x's easier if she slept with me rather than in her cradle... but what can ya do?!

Re: sleeping question
Jenny - Ryan ALWAYS slept with us, in our bed, until he was 7 months old...don't let anyone make you feel bad about that decision!!
Anyway, I personally wouldn't worry about the sleep schedule too much (or where she is sleeping right now) - it will likely change again as she gets a little older...just enjoy whatever schedule she seems to be on now! And whatever is getting you all some sleep and some peace!

Re: sleeping question
day five passed and she slept again at 6:30-7:00 until 10:30! Woke up, my mom gave her a bottle of milk, I pumped and she was down for the count by 11:30!
i must be dreaming.....

Re: sleeping question
You might want to try not putting her in the bassinet, but rather, in the crib. Rebecca started to hate the bassinet too, at around 2 months. I would put her in it, and whereas she used to sleep fine, she would then be okay for about 15 minutes, and then she would cry. But, as soon as we put her in the crib, she would sleep soundly. She wanted the extra room, apparently. Try it - you might be surprised.

Re: sleeping question
Jenny I still have Damien in our bed too. I can totally relate to the trying to put the baby in the bassinet(we have a co-sleeper) after a while you can only survive without sleep for so long. We both sleep soundly when we all sleep together. I have a set-up in my bed. My DH finds it hysterical. I had a hard time sleeping flat, in the beginning it hurt my incision and also my boobs once my milk came in. So I sleep propped up with pillows and then I have my snoogle folded in half with a mini-snoogle over it and Damien lays on that so we are facing each other. He fits right in there , we don't use a blanket either, and I can nurse him whenever he needs to. My DH has been saying I should put him in his crib before I go back to work, but then I would have less sleep because he still nurses throughout the night and then I will have to get up to get him.
