Slight Dilemma re: WOTY

I have a sneaking suspicion that my shower is that day or at least that weekend (which means my sister will be up from Georgia so I'd like to spend time with her). I don't want to know the date but at the same time, I don't want to waste the $50 I spent for WOTY.

Do I just suck it up and forget about the $50?

Yikes!!! Its kinda hard if you want to avoid finding out when it is. I would just ask your sister if she wants to go with you to the WOTY and see what she says.

I know, I really want this to be a surprise!! I'm thinking I'll have to suck up the $50 in lieu of the surprise but that kind of sucks

ETS: I didnt' even really answer your post. My sister won't be up that weekend unless it is my shower. So, I can't ask her for plans for anything because I know she won't be here unless it's my shower, in which case, I would then know.

EETS: Ok, so that was barely English but hopefully I got my point across

The thing is, I won't know until that day since the shower is a surprise. I was thinking of cancelling WOTY now and just hoping it is that day but what if it isn't, I'm going to be depressed knowing I missed yet ANOTHER gtg!!

Why do you think it is that day?

You can tell your Mom and sister you are going to the WOTY and how you are so excited and see if they look concerned. That will give you another clue. Don't register until you know for sure. $50 is alot to throw away.

I already registered a while ago

Nothing too specific but I know the invitations have gone out and they wouldn't have gone out for much past that weekend and it is a holiday weekend for some people and it's a couple of weeks after the holidays, giving people time to recoop. Plus stuff has started flying off my registry.
