Slight Dilemna... the person who is doing our invitations is running REALLY late on them...
Our current RSVP date was October 6th for our Nov. 12th wedding.
At this rate, I won't GET my invites until Sept. 12th, which means I can't address and mail them until Sept. 14th, if I'm lucky! She's sending the RSVP cards and envelopes out tomorrow so I can get a head start, but I'm still looking at the 14th as the day I can get them to the post office.
Should I keep the RSVP date Oct. 6th, which is a 3 week RSVP time... or extend the RSVP date to October 12th - exactly one month before my wedding?
When are final counts at reception sites generally do? Will that Oct. 12th RSVP date give me enough time, especially taking into account late RSVPers?
Thanks!

Since your wedding is on 11/12, I'd extend the RSVP time to 10/12.

You can definitely extend the RSVP date to October 12. Most girls use the one month mark as the RSVP date.

I got married on 11/13 last year, sent out my invites on 9/12 with a RSVP date of 10/20, you'll be fine.

I would extend it. I could also check with your reception place to see when they need a final count...my place told me a week b/4 if that is the case with you then you'll have plenty of time.

I say keep the same RSVP time. Maybe you will get a better response rate. I personally think it dosen't matter how much time you give people, there are those that never RSVP and you wind up tracking them down anyway.

This is what I did as well. I would change it if I were you.

Personally, I think 3 weeks is plenty of time. I feel like the longer the time period people have to respond, the more people will lose the card, etc..
The only exception would be if you have a lot of out of town guests that need to make arrangements...they might appreciate more time.

I agree. If they know they can come a month before, they'll know 3 weeks before.

You can extend the RSVP date but if you don't get all your responses back by then you have to make phone calls. I kept it earlier than needed. Just to be safe.

I would move the RSVP date to Oct 12th. That is still plenty of time for the final count. Our hall wants it one week ahead.

My final count is due 2 weeks before my wedding.
My RSVPs we sent out on 8/31 and my RSVP date is 9/30.
I think you will be fine. I got 10 RSVPs today. People are being great so far!!!
I would keep everything as is. Sometimes giving people too much time isn't good either.
