So my MOH (cousin- but we're not close, I had to choose her b/c of family issues) wants to have the same hairstyle as me (which will be down and wavy). Can I make all the BM's wear updo's or would that be unfair to all the other girls (and look weird in the photos since I'm wearing a downdo)? Or should I just tell the hair stylist (who will think I'm crazy probably) not to give my MOH the same hairstyle. Keep in mind, this is the same MOH that keeps telling me she has to look better than me that day. (Posted on BHB too)

Well - Aside from the obvious issue of her telling you that she wants to look better than you on your wedding day , I don't think its nice that she wants the same hairstyle. I personally wouldn't care, but then again my MOH isn't trying to compete with me, so I do understand how you must feel.
Are you paying for their hair? If you are, I would just tell her that you would prefer for all of the girls to have updos. If you aren't paying, it gets a little more tricky, IMO.

I'm paying for all of their hair, b/c MOH got very annoying about how expensive everything was costing, so I felt like if I had to pay for her I'm definitely paying for my other BM's. Which is ridiculous b/c the only thing she had to pay for was her dress, which was $90! I'm not making them choose specific shoes or jewelry or antyhing.

I was in a wedding where the bride told us that we at least all had to have our hair back away from our face whether it was all up or just the sides. I totally respected that. Can you use that? her reasoning was she didn't want peoples hair flying around and ruining pictures....At least if this girls hair is off her face it will be different then u. Just to say though that i can't believe she said she wanted to look better then you! In all honesty if you want your hair down there isn't many choices other then wavy or curly...so i would tell your bridesmaids how you want them to wear their hair

You can absolutely ask that all of your BM's wear their hair up (I've been asked to do this in the past.. and although I HATE my hair all up, I did it and smiled b/c it wasn't my day). Or, if your MOH wants to wear her hair EXACTLY like yours- just tell her you want hers to be different- that you don't care if she has 1/2 up/down like you... just to be slightly different (and you can explain this to your hair person before hand too). Plus- if you have different hair (legnth, texture, etc) I'm sure it won't look the exact same anyway....

I don't mind telling her she has to wear her hair up, but I'm not sure if my other BM's prefer it down and I don't want to 'punish' them b/c of her.

Unfortunately, we have pretty much the same hair.

Then I would just very nicely tell her (and the other BMs) that you would prefer if all of them wore their hair up. Its completely rational and justified if you are paying

Um, why does your MOH feel she needs to look better than you that day?

Ahhh, I would probably feel more comfortable telling all of them to wear it back. Or I would just flat out tell her that she should pick her own hairdo. OR you can tell her you are doing something different, let them do her hair first, then do your original hair do.
This situation would annoy me lol.

That's just the type of person she is. My mom's response: she's younger than you, you have to take it. (She's two years younger than me and it's not like we're kids anymore!!!)

So you think if I just tell the hairstylist I would prefer all of their hair back, it'll be okay?

can you ask all your BMs how they want their hair and if majority say up then I think your MOH is out voted?

I could definitely do that. What if everyone wants it down and wavy like me?!

oh boy ..sorry about her. SHe said she wants to look better than you on your wedding day...RUDE!!! If you are all using the same hair stylist then you can choose - maybe have all the girls go with up dos to keep a theme.

Re: Slight Hair Drama - Help Needed
Well i am requesting that all my girls wear their hair up. I do not care what kind of hairdo it is exactly, but I want them all to wear it up.... I on the other hand will wear my hair half up/half down

I like that idea - they can choose whatever updo they want
