Slight Hotel Crisis
We are having a destination wedding in Feb on Coronado Island, which an island just off of San Diego (connected by a bridge).
We just recieved a call from FFIL this morning telling us that he found out that there is going to be a PGA tournament the same weekend and hotels in San Diego itself are already booking up and raising prices.
We are going to be sending out STD's hopefully within the week (should have final proof for them today).
I was making a little business card to go in the envelopes that say the following:
Important Hotel Booking Information!
The weekend of our wedding is not only Presidents Day Weekend, but there is a PGA Tournament in La Jolla. Hotel Rooms in San Diego are already selling out.
You can find the list of our recommended hotels on our wedding website:
coryclaudette.ourwedding.com
We encourage you to reserve a room even if you are not sure if you will be attending.
Does this sound bad? Stupid idea? I just don't know what else to do. I have 3 hotels of different price ranges to choose from for guests but I can't set up room blocks yet for these reasons:
1. One hotel doesn't do them (cheapest hotel)
2. Second hotel won't set them up til August (Best Western)
3. Third will do a block but if the rooms don't book we are responsible (Most expensive)
We are afraid to do the block at the 3rd because it is the Marriott and it is about $289 a night. Not sure how many can afford that and I don't want to tie anyone down to it.
Ugh, I'm just ranting at this point. What do you guys think of the little business card? Any other thoughts or advice??
Thank you!
