slightly annoyed

so i get my cousin's wedding invitation in the mail today...

first of all the outer envelope is only addressed to me and the inside says 'and guest'!!!!!

now i wouldnt be sooo annoyed except for the fact that we've been engaged since nov of 2006 (way before my cousin)...and have been dating for a million yrs before that and we have both been at a million family functions with them all...so not only does my cousins family know FH by NAME....buuuut they've also received our STD with our names on it (on which i politely put BOTH of their names). there is NO reason why they couldn't have at least put his name on there!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I've called everyone that I knew that has a significant other with a different last name and asked for the last name and correct spelling so they could be included.

People are lazy and they just don't care. I'm sorry she did that to you. It was def. insensitive and there's literally no reason for it.

FH and I went to two separate functions, one in january and the other in february of this year.

the PLACE CARD for one event said: 'Anna & fiance'
and the placecard at the other event said: 'Anna and guest'

I had written both of our names on the RSVP cards for these events, and these people are friends of ours who have known FH's name for the past 3 years.

ughhhh it just makes me soooo mad.

our first and last names were on our STD!!!! its like ummmm hellllloooo look at it and just get his name off of their. its not like its hard!

well now ill just have to be stingy with our gift hahaha.


theyve actually been slightly rude in general. the girl's shower is this weekend and my stepmom was invited but her daughter wasn't....and they refuse to call or answer her about it (even though she asked them). and its not like the stepdaughter doesn't go to family events....she's been to their house!!!!! soooooo weird.

although i must say....i also already have all our 'and guests' names because if they are important ppl in someone else's life i would like to acknowledge them as a person not just a random date.

i understand a little bit more if he had never met them etc. but this is just crazy to me.

I am sorry about that.... that really does stink! She could have at least wrote FH first name if anything...

Maybe it was just a glitch in the matrix and she wrote and guest planning to add ur FH name and forgot to..... i dunno i am trying to make u feel better

why are ppl so horrendous at this???? and especially if u write the name back on the rsvp???? that's just wrong!

That would annoy me too! I was very careful to put the 'and guest' as a proper name if it was someone significant or someone I knew.

You could always invite her 'and guest' to yours when you send out your invites

and i will make a note to refer to fh by name as many times as possibly this saturday at the shower and purposely be like bill did this and bill did that. im just obnoxious like that.

I took the time to get names of all longterm g/f b/f's etc.



you could always misspell her name on her invite!
