The dress I am ordering is poofy on the bottom with pickups and a lot of detailing on the side. I tried the dress on 2x and both times the girl had me put on a tulle slip. I'm assuming that's what it's called. She said she had 2 size slips but recommends the larger size one so the dress lays correctly. I don't know if the dress has crenelin underneath already bc both times she had me put the slip on first. The slip is $200 though. Is this the average price bc it sounds expensive? Should I try the dress on without a slip underneath to see how it looks and also the smaller one. I just want to make sure she's not trying to sell me something that I don't need or maybe for this type dress you need to wear it.

Re: Slip for wedding gown
Generally if you're buying a ballgown, you'll need a crinoline slip too for it to lay properly. And yes, they can cost in the $100-$200 range.
With that said, is there anyone you can borrow one from??? That way you'll also have your something borrowed. I'm borrowing my best friend's slip from her wedding. It's kind of funny too, b/c another good friend is using it for her wedding in July, then I'll use it next year. This slip is definitely getting around

Yea I saw them for even cheaper then that on ebay. I'm just afraid it won't look right under my dress or that there's a certain one that needs to be worn.

Re: Slip for wedding gown
with my Maggie Sottero dress i am getting a crinoline slip. i got the small slip (not as poofy) & it only cost $60. i think the large slip (very poofy) was $120.
