So i'm wondering if a slipper basket is really necessary...i mean, how do you know how many of what size to get, and where can you buy them?? How many of you ladies are doing a slipper basket, and how many slippers are you including??

Not important to me at all.
IMO, as a guest, I would never expect the host to put out a slipper basket. It is my responsibility to wear shoes that are comfortable enough or tolerable enough to wear during the entire event. I would never take off my shoes and walk around or dance barefooted. It's in poor taste.

I agree with you , its not the host's responsibilyt to supply foot wear , but I must say that I did choose to do the slipper baskets & they went over so well. Not many people there knew of the idea , but once they saw them , it was a hit.. Keep in mind , alot of the lil things do not go unoticed,, hth

I'm doing a slipper basket, obviously a total extra...not necessary but it's a nice little touch. I'm having approx. 150 females at my wedding so I ordered 100 slippers and got the baskets in AC moore.

im doing it but i just got size 7, 8 ,9 white flip flops from old navy, i think they were on sale for 1.99 each i got 25 pairs and at least people can take them home and wear them again, shipping was only 5.00 also. I think its nice but totally not necessary

i did it and i am so happy i did! I only put out about 40 slippers size 7,8, and 10. People at my wedding absolutely loved them and thanked me for being so thoughtful! Not everyone took them but the people that needed them cause their feet hurt were thankful for those slippers.

Re: Slipper baskets anyone
it's definitely NOT necessary....BUT I'm doing them b/c for $1 per pair through Mysisterusa, I figured it's not that much extra on top of what we're spending, and it's definitely a nice touch! I wouldn't have even thought of doing them, but we were at a wedding last year, and the slipper baskets were such a hit.....all of them were gone within 10 minutes of the reception starting!! I didn't even get a pair myself! My anticipated # of guests is 150 (invited 200 or so) and I bought 7 dozen- 84 pairs (which might be more than enough). if you don't see them as necessary or fitting into your budget, then it's definitely something you can skip!

definately not nessacary & also described as a waste of money but i agree a nice touch...alot of brides found slippers for $1 each 25-50 pairs i think should be more than enough no matter how many guest you are having, everyone doesn't need a pair...i myself am leaning towards it because i mentioned it to my mom & she thought it was a good idea, because she doesn't like heels. FYI..i found a site that sells booties * they are dirt cheap & can be used again.

No I'm not doing it. I just didn't want the extra expense and go crazy with the sizes. The last wedding I attended I brought my own pair for traveling home.

Not important to me. Just an added expense that I don't really need.
