Slippers vs. flip flops. The great debate

Slippers vs. flip flops. The great debate

So my mom thought the flip flop basket was insane. I finally got her to understand it, but she had her friends and my relatives all chimed in that not only can they not dance in flip flops, they'll all be wearing stockings (in JUNE mind you), so flips flops won't work.

I already have 50 pairs of mostly black and some purple ON flip flops which I ordered at $1.75 a pair. Should I try to return/sell some of them?

I just went to the discount store and got some pairs of black and some white chinese mesh slippers for $2 per pair. Is it weird to have white? I only found 5 pairs, and I bought them all size 9. I figured not too many people are small sizes and size 11 seemed too big, and all they had were sizes 6, 9, and 11, so I bought all the B&W 9's they had

For a 180 person wedding, how many total pairs should I have, and what should the breakdown be? I'm thinking maybe I should get rid of about 20 pairs of the flip flops and aim to have 30 and 30?

Does anyone want 20 pairs of Old navy Flip flops? I have assorted sizes 5-10?

Do slippers have to go in an organza bag, or do you think I could tie them with a ribbon? I don't think I can afford the organza bags on top of all the flip flops and slippers

Why don't you just go with what you want. Flip flops. I think they are better for a June wedding but that is just my opinion.

I think they're saying the older generation won't go for the flip flops, so I'm trying to be accomodating.

In general I don't think older people would take their shoes off and wear slippers or flip flops. I know my grandparents wouldn't...

Crashing...sorry...

I did the slippers because of the stockings thing too. Even though it's going to be hot out, older woman tend to wear stockings anyway. Size 9 is a good size but I would have also gotten the size 6 as well. Size 7 is a popular size and the Chinese slippers actually tend to run a little bit (I'm normally a size 7 but I wear size 6 in Chinese slippers).

Also I had 220 guests and I bought 88 slippers. My mom thought I was crazy but we ended up only have 6 slippers left by the end of the night. I don't remember the exact breakdown but I remember I got a lot 6-9 and like 10 in a size 5 and 10 in 10s and 5 in 11s (just in case).

I went into China town and went store to store. We talked them down to about $1.50 each. They are hard to find so I went with my cousin but we did pretty well!

The young girls will want the flip flops... and the older women usually don't take them whether they are flops or slippers IMO.. I would keep what you have and mix them in the basket.. people will take whatever if they want them

I did flipflops even though I am having a December wedding. It was so much easier and cheaper...I got 80 pairs of flip flops for $96.00 with shipping. I thought about slippers but I know for some women they are wide enough...

I might be interested if you still planning on selling them.

I dont think that you need to put them in bags. Maybe just tie a ribbon around them to keep them together.

I bought 30 something paris os slippers for 130 guests. I bought them off another bride and thats what she had, so thats all Im putting out, im not buying anymore. I cant really figure out how many people are going to wear them. I was thinking that mostly the younger crowd might use them.

I think either slippers or flip flops will be fine. People that are wearing stocking will just keep their shoes on hopefully.
