Small bridal party

Small bridal party

Hey ladies!

I am having a tiny bridal party (my sister as MOH and FH's brother as BM), and don't know if we should do suits or tuxes.

We are having a daytime wedding and weren't originally planning on doing tuxes, just using the budgeted tux $ as part of a new suit for FH (since he uses them all the time and can always use another).

But now we're thinking it might be easier if we do get the tuxes - we wouldn't have to worry about coordinating FBIL's suit, etc. Then the BM, my dad, FH's dad, my BIL (sister's husband who will walk my nephew down the aisle) will all have one. Do you think it's necessary?

What did you (or would you) do?

My bridal party is exactly like yours...we'll be getting married at 3pm in November, so I guess that's technically evening, right? We're going to do tuxes

My bridal party was the same way. All the men had their own tuxes (except my DH - so he went out and bought one). None of them matched per se, but they all still looked really nice together in pictures. With small bridal party, personally I love the more mix-match look. If all the men didn't already have tuxes, I probably would have asked them if they all had black or gray suits and go from there. I would say put the money to a nice suit that your FH can wear again and again and save your family the expense of renting tuxes. Just my 2 cents.

I think suits would be fine, but it also depends on whether everyone has a really nice suit and if they all coordinate. It might be easier to rent tuxes but that''s JMO since I know I would be inspecting everyone's suit to make sure it looks good

we had a small bridal party as well (MOH, BM and 2 flower girls). we did suits because DH didn't really want to wear a tux and we really wanted everything to seem more 'laid back' since it was during the day. my brother walked me down the aisle so DH, my bro, and our BM all wore the same suit. the only thing is, DH wore a different tie. we got them on HUGE sale at banana republic and i definitely think it could be worn again. our suits were khaki but i think grey would look awesome for a daytime wedding too.

i just put up my review and there's a pic in there if you want to look.

here's the link: review

good luck! i'm sure whatever you decide, your guys will look great!!

If you do a black suit they don't have to match exactly. If your BP is willing to spend money to rent a tux they may be willing to buy a new suit (especially since they can wear it again).

You can find nice suits at Macys during their super crazy sales (4th of July is right around the corner. A local tailor could do any tailoring needed. Then maybe give the tie as a gift.

I was in tux shop the other day, and they have some really cool new things that kind of split the difference...sort of suit style tuxes....some nice lighter colors and really attractive trimmings.
They would be nice for day!

Re: Small bridal party

We had a small bridal party (MOH, BM, and 2 girls, 2 guys). We got married at 3:30 in the afternoon outside in a garden. At first, DH went to get a suit, but was really unhappy with everything - he wanted to make sure that he was the best-dressed man there. Every suit he looked at looked like one a random uncle might wear.

So he decided on a gray tux with bright color tie and vest to make it more 'fun.' It worked out great.

He got them from Zeller. Men's Wearhouse only had one gray tux and it wasn't nearly as nice.

Thanks ladies. I still have no idea. I'd honestly rather do suits, but I don't want to have to worry about what FH's brother is wearing - and I'm definitely not buying him a new suit. Maybe I'll just leave it up to FH.
