Hi all-I just discovered this forum today and have been reading all afternoon. I would appreciate if anyone could help me find a place for my wedding. We just recently decided to get married, and since I have always have my heart set on a Christmas wedding and we don't want to wait a year ( it will be a very small wedding) we are trying to find a place for this Dec. I am not looking to have a standard wedding reception, just an evening cocktail/hors d'oevres/cake party with the ceremony in the same room. I'm thinking about 50 people. I'm looking for a cozy restaurant that really decorates for Christmas (tree, etc.). A fireplace would be great too. Oh, and I'm on a really tight budget as well! Thanks!

Re: Small Christmas wedding help
The Metropolitan in Glen Cove, they just redid the upstairs but also have 'The Club' room downstairs.. It has a living room/cocktail area and then a separate room for dinner which also has a dance floor if u want to use it. The food is awesome. FH's friend works there and they are great people to work with... I would definitely look into them.....Perfect for a smaller wedding and very classy......

Re: Small Christmas wedding help
Hi and Congratulations! We had our engagement party at the Irish Coffee Pub and everything was delicious! When we went on the tour of the place, they were setting up for a wedding of 15 restaurant style, so I'm sure they'd be able to help you with what you're looking for. We had a buffet brunch 2 days after Thanksgiving. There were only a few decorations up at the time, but they said that they go crazy with the Christmas decorations! Good luck!! Also, this is another helpful website - Long Island Catering Halls
Check out the West Sayville Country Club - they are having a special right now for anyone who books that time of year - our minimum is 75 but can't hurt to call and ask about a smaller party...

Not sure how much they are, but I went to a wedding at the Milleridge Cottage during Christmas time and they have a big tree in the main area and they decorate it very nice for the holidays. If I were planning a christmas-time wedding, I would have dfeinitely chosen them.

Re: Small Christmas wedding help
Hi, I read a review for someone who had their Christmas Wedding at Pine Hollow Inn. She raved about them. I was in contact with the owners via telephone and they were super nice!! Really accomodating and willing to help out. The price was great too. But for the amount of people you have it may work out better not to have the all inclusive price. You have to figure it out.
From what I understand it may be good for what you´re looking for. It supposedly has a cozy feel to it. They give you a free hotel night at the inn. The bride that reviewed said the decoration was a little cheesy but it was great having a room that close after the wedding.
We ended up doing it at Leonards because it´s closer and because we decided to have the wedding a little more formal.

hmmm possibly westbury manor??
Yeah, I went to a graduation party dinner at Westbury Manor in the small room to the left when you walk in. I can't remember the name. But they had just a sit down dinner and passed appitizers beforehand. They only had 50 people. It was really nice. I think it was a 3 or 4 hour party.

Sunset Harbour is very budget friendly, we are having our rehearsal dinner there. They are in East Patchogue, and have been SUPER nice to work with.

I totally agree with the Irish Coffee Pub and the West Sayville Country Club. The managers at both places are incrdibly accomodating and also look at The Thatched Cottage, my office had their Christmas party there several years ago and it was so much fun. It was in the small room. Also look at Nico's in East Islip.

Re: Small Christmas wedding help
i just remembered that the Inn at New Hyde Park decorates beautifully for Christmas.. We went to look at it around December last year. They do have smaller rooms but i know they are on the more expensive side too. It might be cheaper for a smaller room. Call and get quotes.... They were so nice and the place is beautiful!!!

Re: Small Christmas wedding help
Try the Milleridge Inn - it is beautiful at Christmas time. My boss had a birthday party for his wife last December and they used a room in the back of the restaurant - it would be perfect for 50 guests - had a small dance floor and the food was great.

We had my grandparents anniversary party at the Roslyn Claremont Hotel. I am not sure how much it was but it was very cozy and had the things you were looking for. Good luck!
