small issue........

Ok well as i may have mentioned before i have a ridiculously large bridal party.......not to mention two flower girls......anyway.... FSIL is preg and due in August......she has been continuosly making remarks that her new baby will either be the 'other' ring bearer.....or ANOTHER flower girl! lol.....well she just found out that baby is a girl and was like now you have another flowergirl! im like....huh...i do? is that your choice! lol......long story short baby will be 11mos old at wedding....possibly not walking yet......and i DONT NEED ANOTHER FLOWER GIRL!!!!! am i overreacting? she also mentioned that if the baby is not walking yet her son (the ring bearer) could wheel her down the aisle in a wagon! i cant deal! is this my wedding or a showcase for your little family?!!! OPINIONS PLEASE!!

Re: small issue........

I would definitely tell her NO! As you sid, you have a large bridal party as it is... plus any child under the age of 3 are prone to getting extremely tired, cranky, etc. I wouldn't want a baby possibly screaming their head off in the middle of my wedding. I would tell her that you feel the BP is large enough and that it really isn't practical. Maybe you could say that you want HER to enjoy the wedding too... without having to worry about dealing with her young children that day.... many people in hindsight say that having their own children in the bridal hindered their ability to truly enjoy the day because they were preoccupied with the children.... JMO.... hopefully she can see your point of view as well as see it possibly being problematic for her. GOOD LUCK!

ok ! thank god!! i thought i was being psycho....i. tend to flip out when it comes to the inlaws.....and that was my point exactly...i dont need her kid crying in my church!!! lol......

Re: small issue........

you're totally not psycho.... and my FSIL is getting married in April and she is having her and FH's neice and nephew (who will only be 7 months old at the time) being pushed up the aisle in a pram.... everyone thinks she's CRAZY! (but of course we haven't told her that!) I am worried the kids will start screaming...and both mom and dad are in the BP... i know Mom is frustrated because she has to deal with 2 babies all day... but is doing it because that's what FSIL wants but she is not going to enjoy this wedding in Florida in 90 degree heat with a pair of 7 month old twins..... Stand your ground... it's your wedding! in the long run. she might even appreciate the fact you talked her out of it!

OMG......uh.....NO! Not for nothing, but who does she think she is. My FSiL and FBIL are planning to have another baby before the wedding and she's already not planning on taking him/her. I agree with everyone else, just make it clear to her that it's too big and the baby will be too little. Also, (I am assuming this is your brother's wife), maybe you can talk to your brother and he can help the situation. She had her wedding. She should let you have yours! JMO!

Re: small issue........

its your wedding and i think you should call the shots.
i know my church recommended not having any kids under the age of 4 years old in the wedding party...you can always use an issue like that if you wanted...

Tell her right away, just say that while you would have loved to have her in the wedding, you feel she is going to be to young. 11mos is very young for flower girl.

I know my church will not allow kids under the age of five go down the center aisle. Tell her the same thing, that it could be a safety issue.

oh yea that would be a bad issue. Definate no-no. I love children but the idea sounds bad. Sometimes you just have to wonder what people are thinking!

You are not overreacting and I would tell her as is you already have a large bridal party you dont need anyone who can possibly mess up the wedding because they dont want to sit in the wagon and walks the other way.

Re: small issue........

Wheel her down the aisle in a wagon?? ***? NO, thats what you need to say to her. Honestly its your wedding and you get to decide who is going to be in it. Just explain that your bridal party is already larger than you expected and that having a baby wheeled down the isle in a wagon is just not something you had envisioned for your wedding.
