Small Office problems

Anyone work in a small office? I do- 4 lawyers and 4 support staff/ secretaries (only two full-time).

Well here is my vent- all the laweyrs are up to their eyeballs in work, coming in early, going to court, staying late and the rest of the office have the typical 8-4 or 9-5 jobs. So i ask why do they think it is not heir responsibility to answer phones? Why when i ask for something to be done does it wait till they finish a personal email?

I had enough and went to my boss and guess what? it almost seems like I am the problem for 'annoying' him with this. I'm sorry, ll i was tryign to do is do the right thing, work hard and open his eyes up to what goes on around here when he is out of the office.

UGH!!!!!!!! i am so close to quitting. i came back from court and just closed my door so none of them would come near me

thanks for listeninng

Just keep doing your work and try not to worry about other people. Hopefully it will get better

I'm so sorry you have not having the best day. It really s u c k s when people that you work with are lazy and just don't want to do what they're supposed to do. Sometimes it's good to close the door and just be away from those people. When I feel like that, I usually take a breather - go outside and get some fresh air or on my lunch go for a walk to calm myself down so I don't throw my stapler at someone :P Only a few more hours and then you get to go home to your babes

Yes eventually. It is just a totally different world down here. The salaries are RIDICULOUSLY small so right now we have no $ and we would need to make a lot more than we do in order to live up there. Also in terms of when we buy a house we can get a lot more bang for our buck down here. But we are always praying that someday we get to come back to LI.

This happens at my bigger office to.. A few of the assistants shop online all day and leave early all the time. They work 930-530. I work 10am - whenever necessary (even all nighters) and sometimes I feel they are irritated when I need them to do something! Congrats on trying to say something - I am the nice sucker and I never do!
