small piece of advice

small piece of advice

Sorry to crash, but I just wanted to dispense a piece of advice I had been given and totally ignored.

Everyone kept telling us that we should have video, I kept saying no we didn't need it. Well its four months later and DH & I were sitting witho ur photographer doing our album and realized just how fast the day went and what a complete blur it was.
While we didn't have the money for video, which is one of the big reasons we didn't do it we wish we had looking back.

So my advice is if you can feasbily fit into your budget, even if it means hiring a friend who has one, get it. You might only watch it once but it'll be worth it.

thanks for the advice!

FH and I were against videos but I told him I still want to get one so we can watch it even if it is only once!!!

We founds a videographer we love whose work isnt cheesy!

i def. agree.. video and photos were two of the most important vendors i booked.. i did the most reasearch on it. They day does go by too fast... your photos and video will be with you forever

Thanks!
Yes, originally I wasn't going to because I thought videos were a waste of $ and cheesy....
But I'm glad I changed my mind... FH still isn't totally convinced but oh well!! He'll enjoy it afterwards.

Re: small piece of advice

we were originally thinking the same thing & a close friend sat me down and corrected me.

She said think about your family right now....when you have kids - that family will likely have changed - maybe some will have passed on, maybe some will have moved across the states or the world & isn't able to be seen as much...

How else will our children know their aunts & uncles that they don't see regularly?? My Uncle is not in the best of health - so to see him on my wedding video will mean the world to me...

She also said her kids' favorite video is her & her hubby's wedding video - they always want to see the video where mommy looks like a princess...

Just another thought...

Thank you for the advice. I have been debating whether to do a video or not. I might not want it now, but 20 years from now I'll wish that I had.
