After 9 years of employment - I am out of a job at the end of January! I was laid off! What a SHOCK! AND MY 30th BDAY is Saturday ..

I guess I need hugs.,... I am sorry girls! I am stunned right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a way to start my 07 year!

UPDATE! 1/11 - Hey girls, I just realized this was bumped due to a FM I received, I haven't really been on this week, I have been busy feeling sorry for myself, trying to find a job and deciding what I want to do, which is still up in the air, I have two interviews in the morning, one I know am not interested in, it is further than I am now doing the same work I am currently doing...not interested, but I figure i iwll be in the area for the first interview so why not get the 'interview experience'. The first one is at a staffing agency so I am HOPING they can help me figure out a job that I iwll love, seeing as they know what kinds of jobs are out there. So anywayk, I have good days and bad days, I am trying to get through this. I really again thank you all for your support and great advice, I will look into it all!

OH ps - FH threw me an AMAZING surprise 30th bday on Saturday, It was bitter sweet but an amazing night, I really should post some pics, but I have been lazy!

How could they do that with your wedding coming up?? That's awful...

Try careerbuilder, craigslist, etc etc...

I wouldn't try craigslist or other sites like that such as monster.com and all that...Unless she has time to wait around for another job...On those sites they never check the resumes themselves, they put it through a program once they receive it and it looks for certain keywords, if those keywords are not there then it will never get passed on and seen by an actual person...On average it takes a month and even more to get responses...Plus you have to keep in mind that hundred and some positions thousands of people are applying for.

Recruiters are alot more helpful and its good bc you can tell them your salary requirement and they wont send you on interviews that offer less than that. So this way you don't waste your time going on interviews that you wouldn't want to take anyways.

Well there is a long story to it, but basically my boss isn't staying, so I am not staying.

I totally agree, hey - 9 years is a long time, I could certainly use the change, I am staying positive! I am getting severence so I am in a great position - but it still hurts emotionaly so much!

Sooo sorry to hear!!! Don't you love how they can just get rid of you??? Same thing happened to Fh a year ago...so I feel for you!!! But don't worry...somthing better is around the corner!!! Meanwhile sign up for unemploymet...it's not much but it's better than nothing!!
