Smithtown Landing Brides... room set up ?

The main area to set up the sweetheart table is right in front of that mirror at the Smithtown Landing. I see many issues with this such as the flash being in all of the pictures taken there.

Any former brides of the Smithtown Landing have a different set up with the sweetheart table and DJ?

I also thought of this as a possible issue and talked it over with my dj since the only solution I can see would be swap the dj booth with the sweetheart table. He was saying as long as the RH allows it then it wouldn't be an issue but they also have to have the correct electrical on that side of the room and then your guests really won't be able to see you on the other side because of the two pillars in the room. I might talk to Rich about this and see what he thinks at the next showcase but I would like to hear from past brides as well on this.

I had my sweetheart table in the normal spot in front of the mirrors and no issue with any flashes in the mirror. Having your sweetheart table on the opposite end of the room (where the DJ is supposed to be) might create other issues depending on the time of day. If your a day wedding, you might have random golfers playing in the background of your sweetheart table pics. Or, the sun could be setting at a bad angle right in the windows behind the sweetheart table. Just IMO...

The cocktail hour is in the room off the deck with the white tent... I forgot what it's called.

The cocktail hour is in the room off the deck with the white tent... I forgot what it's called.

thats where we are having ours.. im concerned over the set up and how to decorate. i know its only an hour but it should have something. how many people are you having?

I'm really not worried about that room... It's nice and open and the guests will have the choice to go outside or stay in.

Our invite list is 190 so probably around 160/170 the day of.

We had our room set up the normal way, and had no problems with flashes in the mirror. Your photographer should know what to do in a situation like this. I had issues with my photographer, and this is one thing he got right!

No issues what so ever, any good photographer knows how to handle a mirror reflection

I was curious how the bathrooms looked the night of anyone's wedding? Also did you feel that there was a lot of walking? Like was it bad for older guests? What reviews did you get from your guests?

I was just there today with FH and we did a complete walk through mimicking what our guests will do the day of... From the cocktail hour room to the main ballroom, it took barely a minute to get from point A to point B. I have a grandmother that has trouble walking but with assistance will not have too much trouble getting from place to place.

I've been to a few other weddings at other halls that involved a caravan of guests squeezing through tight stairwells so I think the the SLCC has a decent setup.
