Smithtown Landing...Good or Bad?

Smithtown Landing...Good or Bad?

Since we`ve had some trouble finding waterfront facilities that fill our needs, we right now have the Smithtown Landing on our short list. We just went there today and the place didn`t seem too bad.

Has anyone been there or know anyone who`s gone there for a reception? What did they say? We want the blunt honest truth.

thanks...

*the reason for the name is that I tore a ligament on my knee during skiing and now I`m wearing a friggin` brace! GRRRRR. (smile)

my opinion....

I`ve been to a christening there - it was nice to be on the golf course, but the lobby area wasn`t too great, from what I remember. It needed to be updated & renovated.
I was there over the summer, and the AC either wasn`t on, or was broken in the woman`s bathroom, and we were all DYING!!!

Had my reception there

I've posted before about Smithtown Landing and since we had our reception there I can give a good opinion. Like I've said before it's not the fanciest of places but on our budget it was more in our range. Our wedding reception was wonderful. The food was absolutely great from the cocktail hour to the entrees to the cake. The staff treated us wonderfully and we really had no complaints. There really isn't a lobby area -- there are three separate buildings with three separate rooms. WE had our cocktail hour in the Nissequogue Room and the reception in the Imperial Room. I wasn't thrilled with the decoration in the Imperial Room but they dim the lights and when you add your flowers it's really quite nice. That's my two cents. Good Luck planning.

Maybe I'm confusing this with another place?

Is this a country club, on a golf course?

Teri, Yes, it's a golf course near the Nisseque River.
