Smithtown Schools

We are thinking about moving to Smithtown. I see it is a very large school district with 9 elementary schools. Are any of the elementary schools considered more desireable than others?

I went to smithtown and now teach in smithtown.

Some people will tell you that one is better thatn the next, but they are pretty much all equal. St. James elementary is in a more affluent area but the school itself is the largest one around.

Smithtown is a great school district. I am proud to say that I am a graduate of the district and now teach there.

It really depends on the neighborhood you like and the house you fall in love with. IMO they are all teh same.

I went to Smithtown... I think all the schools are equally good. I went to both Smithtown Elementary and Mt. Pleasant - both we great (though I really like Smithtown better).

I'm kind of biased toward Accomset (sp?) right now though as I have two friends who will be teaching there starting this fall

Keep in mind that they are going back to the 2 HS, 3 middle school model...so that will prob make the distict feel smaller in the upper levels :)
