I always imagined getting a very smokey eye, I think its what looks best on me. But all the makeup I'm seeing seems cleaner. Thoughts?

Re: Smokey eye for the wedding day?
Your wedding day IMO is the day that you can go over the top and get away with it. I think if it looks good on you then thats even more of a reason to do it. I will be sporting this look as well

If you like the way it looks on you, then go for it! I checked depends only b/c it depends on the overall look you're going for.

Depends on what looks good on you. When I did it for my trial I thought I looked like a hooker especially since I don't wear makeup.

lol, this!
Also, do you sweat? Does your makeup tend to run or smudge? Even w professional makeup, I know after 12 hours I may have an issue if there is too much going on under my eye. I had a very light liner on my lower lash line and it worked out perfectly. Had I gone full out smokey, it would have been a disaster.

To each their own--I would definitely do it on a trial first.

Re: Smokey eye for the wedding day?
I am a makeup artist and I have to say I love the smokey eye look on brides that wear modern wedding dresses. I think it kills the look if you have a smokey eye with a princess ball gown dress on.
I am doing over the top smoke eyes for my wedding. You should get two different looks done when you do your trial so you can be the judge.

Re: Smokey eye for the wedding day?
it depends what works best on you. i know for me i look terrible in a smoky eye or dark eye makeup in general but if it works for you then i say go for it. i personally think a smokey eye with browns or purples is a softer, nicer look for a wedding than a black or gray smokey eye but thats just my opinion

Re: Smokey eye for the wedding day?
Smokey eyes are nice esp for a night wedding. Im gonna do smokey eyes i want them to stand out in pix. Alot of brides do more natural make up cause they want to look more natural on their day

I had a smokey eye look for my wedding day but somewhat neutral. I had her use light browns instead of dark gray.

Re: Smokey eye for the wedding day?
I think it depends on the time of day!!! I think if you are having a daytime wedding, softer eyes are more appropriate. However, if your entire shindig is at night, I think you can go for the drama with your makeup. I went to a wedding once where the bride had really dramatic eye makeup and she looked like a clown coming out of the church but later that night in the dimmer light of the ballroom she looked beautiful.
