smoking

Does anyone else smoke and their FH hates it or the other way around?

My FH is making me quit the day of the wedding and I am not to happy. I know smoking is bad but I don't want to quit. Anyway I just wanted to know how many others are in the same boat.

I am! FH quit 5 years ago, so now he is the almighty preacher. I do have a months supply of patches that I got for free & intend on trying when we get back from the HM. It is so bad, but I truly enjoy it-I know that sounds terrible.

I think you should quit right now!

why would you want to continue? Lung cancer is one, if not the most, deadliest forms of cancer. I have had people in my family die of lung cancer at early ages.

your FH is just concerned about your health.

Not for nothing but I think it's yucky!! And for a bride to excuse herself for a puff is even worse. I understand nerves, but some people just do it socially I think it's okay, otherwise I think it really is a bad habit.

i personally think its nasty! i hate being around it...i had 2 BFs that i was w/ b4 Alex and i told them u pick me or cancer.....both picked me! lol
now we broke it off and they both went back, funny thing is they both emailed me 1 time and said u know you are so right, its a gross habit! Yet they went back to it?!!
i cant be near it for long...the smell just makes me sick!

me and FH used to smoke. .. Fh quit, and then I quit too ... we are now social smokers and only smoke when we drink - sometimes every weekend, sometimes once a mth - depending on our mood.

the best way to quit is to just quit out of nowhere - thats what my FH did! woke upi one day and quit (it was the day after my brothers bday - where he got TRASHED and smoked like 3 packs!!!

WE both quit on Thanksgiving. we have a couple of cigs when we drink but he has been sneaking some. I told him NO WAY! He has sinus problems and needs to go for surgery and I won't schedule it until he isn't smoking. He has been good though!

FH does and i used to but have not for many many years.. I want him to quit and he does to but has tried and never been too successful.. maybe after the wedding or when children become a factor..

im an ex smoker but i smoke when i have a drink or so....FH smokes....he 'wants' to quit....but he'll quit when he's ready ...thats how i did

I am the opposite...I quit last July and FH still smokes and being a non smoker now you can really smell what everyone use to always complain about. I thought I did a good job hiding it from parents too!!! But I can smell if there are cigarettes in your pocket now!!!

We both smoke, FH smokes alot more then me but I am planning on quitting when I join the gym in 2 weeks....I really want him to quit with me but he says he is not ready and he will quit when I get pregnant, so I guess I will have to wait another 2 years for him to quit.

I don't smoke and FH smokes. He has been trying to cut back and wants to quit. We don't live together right now. But I told him when we live together he has to either stop smoking or smoke outside. So far he told me he won't be smoking by then. So I hope so.

Both FH and I smoke, but he smokes way more than I do. I want us both to quit, but he's not ready. I think it would be virtually impossible for me to quit with him still smoking (we live together). At the very least, I'm going to quit when we start trying to have a baby.
