'Sneaking out' of the wedding . . .

my mom told me the coolest thing yesterday ( in btw. all of the fighting,lol)

in her town in Sicily the tradition was that towards the end of the night - the band would play a certain song. . .

and when that song was played the bride and groom would just stop everything and leave ( this was really towards the very end, not like they were missing anything)

all the guests would pretend that they didn't see them leave. . . a car would be waiting to steal them away to their HM

the purpose of this was so that the B&G wouldnt have to spend another hour saying goodbye to the people they just spent hours greeting

isnt that SUCH a cute idea? i wish I could do that!

that's a really cute idea...and it makes sense!

In my mom's country (Finland), I was told that the first dance is always to the same song at every wedding!! It's a finnish waltz or something, the bride & groom are the only ones who dance to it and then they can dance to their own song too if they want to.

Pretty cool how different countries have different customs!!

I saw that on a movie once and thought it was such a romatic getaway.....I forgot what movie it was!

That's fun. I plan on sneaking out to go downt he road to the beach for a few pics. My FSIL said 'goodl uck with that. I will be very impressed if you manage to sneak out'. We'll see.
