Well, we are 1/2 way through the year ... my 6-month anniversary is tomorrow and it got me wondering about all of you!
How is everyone adjusting? Is married life everything you dreamed of and more? Has there been any big adjustments you've had to deal with? Did you have your first fight yet? Any good newlywed stories?
I just had my 1 month anniversary and all can say is MARRIED LIFE IS GREAT!
We are talking about house hunting soon and it isnt just us talking pretend about the future! Its REAL!

I have been married a little over a month and yes, there were major changes. We love each other more now. Think twice before losing our cool. We're family...we want to have a family and can discuss this now. Our talks are so much richer, deeper because we have common long term goals. Thank God it's this wonderful - I love it!
ETA: about the fight, yes, we had our first married disagreement about a week ago. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was solved...it seems that neither of us wants to argue or be mad - at least for the time being!

It has been almost 2 months and we are still loving the little things like waking up to each other every morning, having dinner together every night, and making new routines together. We haven't had a fight yet but since Rob recently had surgery, we're in a different position than most ppl since I am really taking care of him and all of the housework for the time being. When he's better in a few month, we'll be able to physically do more, and he'll start doing his share of housework, etc. But married life is great and I am excited for all the 05 girls who are about to get married - it is a joy and treasure every second!

It will be 1 month next Monday. I love it! No more wedding stress either! DH starts a new job in August so hopefully buying a home isn't too far off!

I am so in love with my husband - I honestly could not think it could be any deeper than what we already had, but it is!
We are moving to North Carolina in THREE WEEKS and we are so excited to start our new life there...I really feel like our relationship is going to really deepen in our first few yeas of marriage in a NEW place, with just US as family.
Being a Newlywed is awesome (and everyone keeps noting that I am 'glowing' and 'smiling' alot!)

Next Tuesday will be a month already. How fast did that come up!? I am enjoying married life very much....I love seeing my best friend all of the time and being able to hug him when I wake up. We didn't live together before....so that has been a big adjustment. Not so much because of us, just the fact that I have never been 100% on my own before. We just adopted 2 adorable 9 week kittens and have our hands full with that.

That is just awesome, Rye! I hope everyone says that about me! I can't wait to be the bride and not just the Finace.
I am so happy for you! Good luck in your new home!

I'll answer my own question too. I love being married! The extra security I feel when I think about my husband is wonderful. He's my best friend, my confidant, my lover and my family now. We laugh together and are silly - We cry together when something serious happens. The bond is so much stronger than I could have imagined.
I have to be honest and say that the first few months, while wonderful as I stated above, have been a huge adjustment for us. We both lived with our parents before the wedding (went to college locally and never moved out) and we only started living together after January 7th. The sheer responsibility of running a house, making compromises, thinking of each other before making decisions, etc have taken up so much of our time and energy. I can finally say after 6-months that we are getting into a groove and things run a lot more smoothly than the first 3 months we were married.
It isn't about me or him and our personal needs anymore but about US and our needs as a couple/family. I think this would happen when you first move in with someone regardles of marriage though - however, being married and having that commitment made us work just that much harder to make each other happy and make each other's lives easier. I have discovered that my husband is a better ironer than I am, that he'll only think to do laundry if he runs out of clean underwear, that he'll scrub the toilet if I don't harp on it. I discovered that I love to cook every night, even when I think I'm too tired, I try to make it something we both can sit down and enjoy and not just 'eat quick', I am pretty good at keeping our bills in order and that I really stink at ironing no matter how many times I try to get that crease just right! :) All in all, these 6-months have been life-altering on so many levels. I'm stronger, more responsible and more in love than the day I got married. I wouldn't have believed it if you told me that on January 7th! I hope for all of us on the '05 board, it just keeps getting better and better
