I emailed the banquet manager and he said that if I wanted to put 1:30 on my invites - thats fine, but I'd have to let him know if I want the side bar open as a cash bar until cocktail hour starts and also that people might be there earlier than 1:30 and may witness them putting the final touches on the dining room and such. What are your thoughts? Should I just put 2 o clock since it is at 2 o clock?

Re: So, about that invitation time
it personally bothers me when I get to a wedding at 1:15 and it doesn't start til two. I would put two if your family and friends are punctual. If they are people who are always late then u may want to do 1:30

I would put whatever time cocktail hour officially starts down. People are always going to get there early just because.. a) they dont have anywhere to go inbetween cocktail and church b) some people are like me and want to be the first to get to the food lol
If you put 1:30 then people might really arrive at 1:15.

I would put two.... you dont want people there really early before things are even set up.... for those guests going to the ceremony most know to arrive early so as not to show up late and walk with you down the aisle lol

you can do whatever you are more comfortable with...my only suggest for those that actually show up on time --- do not make them pay for their drinks! you can have it set up as cash bar, and have them run a tab for you guys to pay later on (it will be cheaper that way than open bar anyway)

If I am putting down 2 oclock, and the reception starts at 2, then I don't think I should open the bar - its literally right next to the ceremony so I'd rather people just get their drinks when CH starts....
