So I came home from work today and my laptop was not working. This laptop has given me nothing but problems since the day I got it and Dell does nothing about it! Anyways, when I restart my comp it says that there is no drive to boot and that there the 'DST hard drive test' failed. What does that even mean??? Worst part is I have ALL of my wedding information on there! Guest list, mailing addresses, pictures of everything I like (hair, photo ideas and whatnot) and I might have lost everything!!!!! I'm so upset I want to scream!!!!

Oh no!! That is terrible!! If dell isn't helping maybe you can bring it somewhere and have it checked out!?!?

take it to that micro center on merrick avenue. my laptop totally died two weeks before finals and fh took it there for me and they fixed it. I had all my stuff backed up though - I definitely suggest getting an external hard drive for that - I back up all my itunes songs and important files.
but if you don't have backups I'm pretty sure they can restore it for you.

Yea I'm going to have to do that or do something! My friend took it tonight to have her husband look at it and my other friend is going to bring it to work if he can't fix it...I'm just crossing my fingers that 1. i get all my info back and 2. i dont have to buy a new computer bc really that is the last thing i want to spend more money on at this point!!!!

OMG!!!! Im having a similar problem with my Dell laptop. It says something dumb like it cant read my AC adaptor I feel your frustration!!!

omg that happened to me too! that happened about a month ago and my laptop has since turned into a desktop bc my stupid adaptor wont charge my battery and if i unplug it then my battery will go dead and i have no way of recharging it...and now this happened!!! i swear I will never ever buy a dell again

omg that happened to me too! that happened about a month ago and my laptop has since turned into a desktop bc my stupid adaptor wont charge my battery and if i unplug it then my battery will go dead and i have no way of recharging it...and now this happened!!! i swear I will never ever buy a dell again
Tell me about it. I had to keep my adaptor pluged into my laptop all the time!!! Great Im not looking forward to what is going to happen to it next. I've been ignoring the problem but now I think Im going to have to get it fixed!!!

yea i was ignoring it too, i have no idea if they are related but no one should have this many issues with one stupid laptop...i hate it!!!! i would back up all your info on an external hard drive just in case!

it was $65 just to look at it. all they needed to do was a system restore and reboot the whole system, which cost another $60.

really i didn't think it was that much. my laptop cost $1300 so $125 to fix it was worth it - and it's not even a year old! But of course i'd rather pay nothing and have it not freak out - they said I got a virus somehow

yea its not a lot if it fixes it...my point is exactly what you said though...i spent so much money on the computer to begin with that it shouldnt be breaking after such a short period of time!!! oh well sh*t happens i guess! lol
