So annoyed

So, we go yesterday to drop off our final payment - and a couple of hours later I get a call from a friend of mine that she can't come. OK, so, I'll deal with that (a coworker of hers quit and now her boss has suspended all vacation until further notice - she lives in Rochester.) Then I get a call from FMIL - one of their family friends and his wife also cancelled. AND - they didn't call us, we actaully found out through FMIL who found out through her BIL (who asked the guy if he had called us and the guy said 'No, not yet, I will' but then DIDN'T.) And I'm sure he knew BEFORE yesterday they weren't coming. So, there goes more of our money for no reason. Plus, now the table they were supposed to sit at will look stupid with so few people - it was one of the smaller ones to begin with. I am so ticked off!! If anyone else cancels now or doesn't show up, I'm gonna have a fit!!!

And, I'm so tired - I keep waking up at 6:00 when I can totally sleep in.
Oh well, thanks for letting me vent.

These people deserve to get kicked in the shins.

Can you call your hall and find out the money you put out for those individuals who arent coming can go towards something else (i.e., another item at cocktail hour, bigger centerpieces, cookies on everyone's table, etc...)

People are SOOO inconsiderate!!! We had 3 people do the same thing at our engagement party and one was the best man!!!! He called the night before to tell us he couldn't come bc he had to work, and he didn't even send a card! I think if anyone does this at my wedding I'm going to send them a bil! LOL

I am sorry to hear that. I actually got invited to a wedding the day of it. I showed up at the church and they asked me to just sit at table whatever it was. Maybe someone will show up that you did not think of having so you don't lose the plate. I have heard of some places reimbursing for people who did not show. I know it is rare but it was a nice surprise for them.

Can you ask any last minute people like a neighbor or another co-worker? That is so annoying. But, people are inconsiderate and I guess it is inevitable when you are dealing with so many people. I guess I will have my turn soon enough

People are rude! But, I think if you speak to the catering hall..they may be able to give you an upgrade with the cocktail hours or flowers
