My wedding is on President's Day. My sister, my MOH, just got her spring calendar for law school and they do not give off for President's Day! It is so frustrating, now she has to miss her classes for my wedding -- who ever heard of a school not giving off for President's Day?!?!?!

That's annoying!!! I'm a tax accountant so getting off for President's Day has always been a no go since it's busy season, but I though school's always gave off for it...weird!!!

I dont think we ever had off for Prez day when I went to law school. I went to a Jewish school and they needed all the reg holidays because we had so many days off for Jewish holidays. THey need a certain amount of class hrs and if they need to pick days then Prez and Columbus days are the ones to go.

Alot of people actually have to work on Presidents day. Believe it or not. Having people from OOT was my main reason i decided on the Sat. night affair rather then the Sunday. Because i didnt want them to worry about getting home or people taking off etc. Not to mention i just wanted the Sat. night lol So yes i kind of knew about this. it stinks.

My FSIL got married last year the day before presidents day and assumed everyone had it off the day after...I was like DUDE...I have not had off President's day since the 6th grade....
yes it was annoying to her and annoying as a guest!!!

I have always had off for president's day, no matter which school or which job. Another girl on my floor at work had her wedding on Pres Day a few years ago and she didn't have any issues about it. My own sister didn't even know she didn't have off because she always has in the past, otherwise she woud have mentioned it while we were planning. not one vendor mentioned it, not one friend mentioned it, nothing. FH's mom is even a teacher for a schoo that doesn't give that Feb winter break.
Luckily we don't have many OOTs, most people live within an hour's drive.

I always had presidents day off. Since school-college and since I started a real job.
not so sure about school but i dont get off at work for anything except the major ones...like my boss says...if the stock market is open..so are we!

I wouldn't worry - People will make it to your wedding even if they have to take a day off. I know I would for a friend.

A lot of colleges don't close on Presidents Day. I work on Presidents. I get very few holiday's off and I just work for a distributor.
