SO annoying. I found a dress but

its from an exclusive designer and NOONE else carries this dress. I went to the wedding center just to try on dresses(being that they have so many) and I found this dress that I LOVE.. Its was perfect and gorgeous. Its by Robin Jillian. Never heard of her, nor has anyone else. So I wrote to them and asked where else I can find/get the dress and they said the WC is the only place within 6 hours of here. Soooooooo now I cant get the dress cause I refuse to purchase anything from there or deal with them. So luckily I tried on other dresses and fell in love with another. Its a maggie and its in my albums. But Really wanted the first one. You know when they say YOU KNOW ITS THE DRESS.... Well I knew and too bad its not gonna happen. Sorry this was a long semi-vent LOL

I am sorry about the first dress. I have never heard of her either. Bad Experience @ the WC?

SO Sorry! Did something happen that's making you refuse to buy from them?? I met two reps from there at the Bridal expo last weekend and was thinking about going to get a good deal on a gown. Please share thanks!

They're just tacky in there. Not warm or intimate. Plus, they said when you buy the dress. If it should come in lets say 2 months early. You have to bring the dress home. I'm not keeping my dress here in my house where theres cooking going on and stuff. NO WAY. And If I got the alterations there, my final fitting is a week before. I DONT THINK SO.. Just not how I want things to be

too bad... i have read reviews on here and several on here has positive reviews from there. im dress shopping now too (hope to finish the search by this Satuday!) so i know its stressful but as an FYI...they also told me my very last fitting would be the week of the weddings so that might be standard.

i wouldn't rule the place out if its the one you love. continue dress shopping and if nothing compares, id go with this one and just deal with the place. maybe you could do a search for reviews on here. good luck.

oh wedding center! i was thinking weddnig plaza (in floral park). my bad. to correct myself then, i have also heard negatives. so sorry. :( maybe this means that this dress isn't the one and 'the one' is around the corner waiting for you!

Yeah I went to the wedding plaza. Probably gonna get my dress and the girls there. they were really nice

I don't know, if you really love that dress, it may be worth ordering it from there and taking it somewhere else for alterations. Or you can tell them the wrong wedding date (a week or two earlier). I just think that if its really THE ONE, you will keep second guessing it and thinking about it even though you LIKE the Maggie. JMO

I totally agree. I bought a dress more for price that I liked and then started second guessing until I just got the one I LOVED. ITs the one day u get to wear the white so rock the one you love.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. It seems silly to not get the dress you LOVE just because you didn't like the ladies in there.

Also, it is 100% standard practice to do a final fitting the week before. When did you want to do it?

2010 crashing.... here is my thought on TWC

do not go there looking for service with a smile
do not go there and expect to be helped in a timely matter, or sometimes at all
do not go there if you cannot laugh at miserable rude people

DO go there to get a cheap price
DO go there to see their selection

I was in a wedding and my dress was from there... alterations too... worked out great.

my girls in my wedding ordered there... service wsa terrible, we pulled things ourselves, but the dresses came in on time and great price and alterations were cheap...

i think you have 30 days after its in to pick it up.... why not go there... try it on... if you love it... wait... you donthaveto order now. you have time... order as late as possible and just be aware if it is going to get discontinued....

They want me to take it home too the week before. I'm not keeping the dress in my house 1 week out in the open. Thats just crazy. I anna pick it up a day or 2 before the wedding. I just dont wanna give them my money LOL

Honestly, I've heard horror stories from that place... I wouldn't chance it. JMO!
ETA: I know other brides have had good experiences there, but it just makes me nervous.
