how did you figure that one.. we too payed a lot of gratuity which i do not get since we have to tip on top of it.. How much a person did you do.. meaning how many dollars per head to get the maitre'd tip

i have NO IDEA FH went there yesterday to pay the balance adn they gave him a spreadsheet explaining the total...and next t gratuity it said that and on the bottom it said that $450 still due for maitre'd
am i crazy or is THAT CRAZY!!!?!

It is usually 1-3 $ per head...

Well if you think that is high my 18% gratuity just for the hall was $4034.36 yeah crazy & I still have to tip the matre-d, bridal attendant & head captain.

Now I have a question, were you told you have to tip those people or you just know.. We piad a high gratuity but was never told anything about tipping.. and if I wouldn't chat w/ you girls I really would have gone Friday not thinking we had too.. do some halls include all the tipping in the gratuity?

My hall specifically said that I had to tip the matre-d, bridal attendant & head captain but I am not sure for every hall. I would double check with the hall just to make sure, or look at your contract it might be there. They told us when we booked, when we paid & when we went for our final meeting.

Make sure they are calculating the tip and the tax seperately. Some places will get sneaky and calculate the gratuity based on the total with the tax. They can't do that.
