I'm confused as to why her dress was inappropriate. Was it too short or revealing?

You would honestly be that upset if a guest wore an ivory dress to your wedding??
That should not even be on your mind the day of your wedding.
You are going to be the one who will be in the spotlight all night,,not a girl with an ivory dress...

I think it's rude. If I saw it, I would take it as a personal insult. JMO.

Please dont take this as me being diffifcult or trying to prove you wrong....I would hate for something like that to ruin a brides day...since there is much worse that can happen
But do you think a person is thinking..'I want to insult the bride, so I am going to wear an ivory dress'?
ETA: would I ever wear an ivory or white dress to a wedding....NO But I also wouldnt get upset if I saw a guest wearing a dress that color. Not worth it..IMO

Now if she had on an ivory dress with a tiara and veil, I would kick her a$$!

You could always 'accidentally' spill a bottle of red wine on her... that solves the problem of an ivory dress It's not ivory anymore.
Now I love my wine and don't like to waste it but desperate times call for desperate measures.

I would totally not care. Noone is going to match my ballgown. I am not worried Besides everyone whos coming to my wedding is a friend or family and if they wore white or ivory I know it wasnt to hurt me, it was because they didnt know L.I. N.Y. wedding etiquette.

I don't think it's 'L.I. N.Y. wedding etiquette' I actually think it's pretty universal that no one but the bride should wear white (even my family from PR knows this). Honestly, I didn't care, but some people do and it's rude to do so...especially if you're younger since you should know better. JMO.
But I do agree with rosaria - so many other things to worry about. And as is evident from my review, I had my hands full and couldn't worry about people's clothes since I barely had a dress!

Personally I would not wear anything that resembled white. But I also would not scream if a guest was wearing ivory. Now if they were wearing white I would gently push them into the mud . The worst I have heard is a mother of the bride wearing white!

I agree with Rosaria. My cousin's girlfriend wore a white pantsuit and she looked great. She's from out of state--where people are less freakish about weddings--and she meant no harm. I didn't think twice and trust me...no one will look at your guests. Only at you. But there was another engaged person at my wedding who asked me how I didn't flip out. Was not an issue for me.
