In the process of looking for a place with FH, found the perfect place last night and it's out of our budget by just enough that it would make things too tight every month...most of the big wedding stuff is done so we're focusing on finding our place, but everything is soooo expensive, it's really discouraging, just felt like sharing.....

are you looking to buy something or rent? If you are looking to buy, you usually do not pay the asking price (especially not in this market). If you are looking to rent, is there any possibility you and FH can negotiate the rent?

I know how you feel. FH and I are also looking for a condo or house, but even with the bad market we can't find anything that's in our price range, unless we look outside of New York. It's hard, but you'll find something you like eventually.

We're hoping we don't have to leave LI, but even in this market, it's so hard, I'm glad I'm not the only one. We figured it's better to rent right now and save our money, but with the way rent is, how can you save anything?!?

FH and I were looking too and its crazy the prices. We wont be able to afford it yet either but the rent on LI is also expensive. I live in Brooklyn now and I dont think I will be able to move out east at all until after the weddings :(

Keep looking. You will eventually find the right place. It took me and FH five months to find the perfect apartment.

I understand dont let it bum you out just think it wasnt meant to be. Trust I know how you feel we keep looking at condos and stuff but there to much money for us

Fh and I looked for 1 year for our house and we didn't find anything then one day the perfect house with everything that we were looking for came up in our price range! And we now love our home!
There is no better feeling then home ownership so be patient!

keep looking! it will come to you. I truly believe that big things like that happen how and when they are meant to be - you guys will find the dream house thats perfect for you! dont be discouraged.
