So bummed - dress issues - Now with less whining!

So bummed - dress issues - Now with less whining!

WAH WAH WAH I'm a whiny b1tch!!!

Sorry, I feel a little better now.

The dress is def too short for me to wear heels. But you know what? I'm nervous enough about tripping all over myself so flats or a tiny heel are probably a better bet anyway. And I'm hoping the poofy-weirdness of it will be fixed once it hasn't been sitting stuffed in a bag.

Pics have been deleted for stalkers.

aww, I'm sorry to hear that you felt that way. Maybe you're just in an off mood today... Could the slip be poofing the dress out too much and making it look shorter? Maybe go back and try it without the slip or with the slip that you plan to wear that day? I'm sure you look beautiful in it! Can't wait to see pics

its ok when i went to try on my dress for my first fitting, no one wanted to come with me. My aunt said she didnt think the dress didnt fit right.

I posted pictures on LIW and the brides were so supportive. Post up some pictures I'm sure we can turn your frown upside down.

When I had the slip on it was actually a few inches off the ground... it wasn't until I took the slip off and had nothing on under it that it even touched the ground!

I'm really a non-confrontational person so I didn't say anything, and I most likely would have only gotten shoes with a small heel anyway but it s*cks to not be able to have that option!

I am sure it was just your mood. Also, since you think it is too short you probably are just unhappy with that. It is YOUR dress and if they messed up you need to tell them. You shouldn't feel not 100% about your dress. Don't settle

Aqwww..I'm sorry. I'm sure it has to do with all the factors that went wrong... with everyone looking bored and all that. I agree with the above posts...
I would wait till you get in a happier mood and bring someone else with you and try it on again...

it hasn't even been altered yet! it just came in on Monday. The seamstress as soon as she saw it was like 'Who measured you??' bc I guess they should have ordered a longer size or something. I didn't know his name but I told her it was a man... and apparently he's the owner. So I guess once she heard that she didn't want to say anything bad about it.

is it possible to add an extra piece of something to go around the bottom of the dress to add length?

I'm sorry, that really stinks! I'm so afraid the same thing is going to happen to me, you could see my feet, and I asked for a longer dress to be ordered, and they told me no, said that you're 'supposed' to see your feet.

Is it hemmed at all? Maybe they can take out a seam to make it longer?

Re: So bummed - dress issues.

Oh no!!!!

This happened to me when I went to 'visit' my dress (the store sample) with one of my BM's back in November. I didn't have the feeling anymore and was blah. I didn't say anything at the time, I let it marinate. And I ended up doing a re-selection. And I had a bad experience with the girl who did my dress visit with me. Its sounding similair to your situation.

Did you try on YOUR actual dress, or was it the sample? I think you deifnitely need to speak up about your concerns, it doesn't have to be confrontational at all. Any reputable bridal salon will want you to be raving about the most important dress you'll ever wear. You still have plenty of time before your wedding in case you need to make changes, alterations, etc.

Good luck

if you think it was ordered too short you should say something to them and if it can't be fixed have them order you a new dress...

it shouldn't matter if the owner ordered it or not !!!

Re: So bummed - dress issues.

awwww hun...it's ok.. maybe you were having an off day.. I saw my dress yesterday and i tried it on...honestly i was more excited when i received the call that the dress was ready.

I felt weird when i tried it on...i think it was a conbination of nerves and my blackberry was constantly going off b/c my coworkers love to wait till i step out to ask a million and one question. So my mind wasnt at all there....i even wanted to see other gowns. My dress was huge so i didn;t look the same to me either...but it'll be fine.

I guess I had an off day too. Go back and try it again, you'll feel better

not such a bad thing to not wear high heels...no one ever looks at your feet and you'll be comfy all night

bring on of your girlfriends who can pump you up in your dress...you def need good feedback when your trying your dress on

told my family not going to buy a dress untill i see someone squirt tears lol
you need to hear someone tell you how beautiful you look!!!

Yes! I def think nerves had a lot to do with it too! I think I had this perfect picture in my head and when it wasn't exactly like that and my family was p1ssing me off it kind of tainted it.

I feel much better now.

I don't think it was be as bad/short once you have a more manageable slip. You look very pretty in it!
