So confused about flowers!

Okay, here is the scenario, burgundy/wine colored BM dresses. What color flowers would look the best. And also, can I have completely different flowers at the reception? This is do not my forte and I have been agonizing over this. Oh yeah, and I can't stand the color yellow. Yes, I know how crazy that sounds to hate one of the primary colors, but I can't help it.

I have been looking at pictures of flowers until my head hurts, but I am looking for some direction from the flower savvy. Any advice?

You can use either white or cream flowers, pink, deep red colors, some shades of blue. It really depends on what kind of flowers you decide to use and then you'll know what colors their available in.

I have same scenario- using dark green, light green, burgundy (same color as dress), purple, fuschia, and pale yellow....Went through this with florist. It is beautiful.

Oh I forgot to say my girls are wearing wine colored dresses also and I'm using cream, pink and deep burgundy colored flowers.

My bridesmaid's dresses were burgandy too. My florist suggested lavendar, peach, and cream, which I was very happy with. Here is a pick...



You can have different flowers at the reception, but personally I think its pretty to have them coordinated.

I say go bold and use reds, oranges and yellows. Definitely makes a statement. And you reception flowers can be totally different, as long as the basic elements in the room complement each other.

i wouldn't use red - my GM's vests were maroon/wine, and the red rose bouteneirres clashed - I wound up having them wear white, and having the groom wear red (his vest was silver) - my boK was red roses, so we matched. But I digress....I think that cream or white flowers would look excellent with a dark maroon dress, and deep red flowers would be excellent with a white dress. the contrasting colors really look nice in pics!!

edited to say, I can't believe I wrote 'the groom' like he's just some guy that was there in a tux, lol

You can also use Tiger lilies. They ahave that burgandy color in them

My girls are wearing garnet and I am having them carry a very light pink colored rose. John at Flower Michelle says it is called Candy Blanca and other florists have suggested a blush colored rose. I am carrying the dark, garnet colored roses.

I am the MOH in a wedding and we are wearing burgundy/wine dresses, she has choosen that we all carry white roses with burgundy tips...just an idea.

My BM's color were was Wine and we used Black Magic Roses for the bouqets.

I had burgendy dresses and I used John from Flower Michelle - who is awesome by the way. He put together these bouquets and I loved them! Black beauty roses, hypernicum berries and blue bird roses.

A friend of mine who recently got married also had burgundy/wine dresses. Her bridesmaid flowers were white and had red accents spread in between the flowers. She used berries. I must say they were really beautiful.
