I need to know how to lose weight fast. My wedding is next month sep 7th. I lost 22 pounds on ww and I am stuck. I had my engagement pics and bridal shower last week and i looked horrible. I was so ashamed that I didn't want fh to see them. I need to drop another 20-30 pounds by the wedding. I want to try south beach but i don't like eggs and that's pretty much what you can have for breakfast.

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
You are a beautiful woman and your FH loves you for who you are and loves how you look!!!! Please please stop thinking that the # on the scale has anything to do with your being a beautiful bride. Please. Pretty please. With a big fat cherry and whipped cream on top!!!!!
(I know you're not going to listen.)
Start walking. Everywhere and anywhere. All day, all morning, all night. Walk to work, walk around the block, walk to the grocery store. Weight will melt away.
But really, you need to be happy with yourself more than anything. You're gorgeous and might look funny if you get all emaciated like you're trying...

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
ITA with everything Sandra wrote. You ARE a beautiful woman and your FH loves you for who you are! Try to stay positive! You've lost almost 25 lbs! That's a huge accomplishment! You are going to shine on your wedding day!!! A couple of hints I would give you for QUICK weight loss results are:
1. Don't drink any soda (even diet) or anything carbonated. It will add bloat, makes you gassy and hinders proper digestion. 2. Avoid alcohol at all costs, it only slows down your body's ability to shed pounds. 3. Avoid eating high-sodium foods. Ketchup has more than your daily need of sodium in one tablespoon! Sodium makes you retain water and stay bloated more than you think! So eat low-sodium everything, stay away from sauces like honey mustard and ketchup, soy sauce, etc. 4. Eat lots of high fiber foods like apples, whole grain fiber breads, legumes and green veggies. 5. WALK WALK WALK!!! Everywhere! 6. Drink more than your needed 64 ounces of water a day. AT LEAST 64 oz. That will allow your body to shed the toxins and weight you want.
FM me for any more questions!!!

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
omg don't say you don't want to get married! I too was at a stand still on weight watchers very recently & everyone has been telling me I look like I lost weight when truthfully I think I weigh about the same..the few things I'm doing differently is not drinking diet soda at all..I was addicted I would drink constantly but I switched to water..also I'm trying to do at least 30-60 mins of speed walking on the treadmill...almost everyday..which depending how tired I am is usually 3-6 times a week. I don't run I never could..now I know this might be hard with having a baby but maybe incorporate it as a walk around the neighborhood?? or even through the mall? ..Don't get down on yourself & hang in there. I think the water & cardio is the answer to the WW standstill good luck hunny! xoxo

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
Drink lots of water, cardio 3xweekly for at least 20 minutes, weight training 3 times weekly..these are all good things for toning up! I have learned recently that it is mainly about what you put into your mouth. Try to eat 5 meals a day. Make sure that they have lean protein, healthy carbs and some healthy fats in them as well~ I calculate EVERYTHING. I journal the nutrition facts of all of my meals so that I am staying within a healthy range of food for my body. I do it daily. This doesn't work for everybody's lifestyle, but it does work for me. Its all a matter of calories in vs. energy expended! Don't give up!

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
These are all really good tips. But just be careful. A healthy rate of weight loss is approx 2 lbs a week. You could do up to 15 lbs in a month and I think you will be ok. But PLEASE don´t do more than that.
If you go on a crazy diet to try to loose 20 + lbs in a month you might be able to do it. But the drawback can be horrible. As you get closer to the wedding date you will be more stressed and probably sleeping less or being more anxious. If on top of that you have an unhealthy diet you can wear yourself out!! You don´t want to get to your 'ideal' weight on your wedding day at the cost of being worn out or even fainting!! (this happened to someone!!)
I agree with all the positive reinforcement that you were given but I know what it feels like to be self conscious about the way you look. I know that no matter what anyone else says you feel like that. However, this is not the time to get depressed!!!! If you focus on the neg it will make you deperessed. This will lead to doing less activity and even if you do activity you don´t burn calories the same way. (a doctor told me that so I think it´s true).
My advise, as always is to breathe. Relax, focus on the positive and start a healthy workout. Something given to me by a nutritionist once to reboot my weight loss was:
eat no carbs after breakfast (even fruits or veggies with high carb content) You can do scrambled eggs with ham and mozzarella chese and things like that. For lunch and dinner stick to lean proteins and green veggies (stay away from tomato) If you are hungry during the day eat proteins such as tuna, ham, eggs (try not to eat too much yolk) I used to make 2 - 3 hard boiled eggs, take the yolk of one of them and mix with mustard and put this mix on the egg whites (like a deviled egg sorta) You can drink water or 0 calorie drinks if necesary. This can be REALLY boring but if you stick to eat for two weeks your reboot your system and start loosing weight again. But do this for ONLY two weeks. Since you only have a month left if you are going to do this, try the first two weeks. Then the last two closer to your wedding just eat sensibly (ww is great!!).
Just don´t stress yourself out!!

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
Take out the carbs - eat more lean protein(chicken, fish, turkey, almonds, walnuts - watch portions) make sure to add in fiber (kidney beans, garbanzo beans(chick peas), black beans) Eat as many veggies as you want - they are always unlimited - but be careful of corn. Have 1-3 fruits a day.
For breakfast - have 1/2 cup lowfat ricotta or cottage cheese with 1 light cup of fruit (Dole or equivalent and drain the syrup or water).
Another helpful hint if you are plateauing - change things up - you can NOT eat the same thing all the time - your body will eventually stop responding to it. Have the breakfast above 1 day and the next have 1.5 cups wheatpuffs and 1/2 cup fiber one with equal and milk .
Just remember that you are beautiful and no matter what - you are getting married to a wonderful man who loves you for who are you!

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
I agree with everyone else who said you were beautiful and your FH loves you! Besides all the other advice which was really good ie. about the soda, alcohol, sodium etc..I will also suggest doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. You have just enough time for that. It is a workout DVD and if you live in Queens and have Time Warner, you can get it on Exercise on Demand on channel 1025. I'm sure Nassau & Suffolk cable must have a similar channel. Also, drink green tea if you don't already. You may not lose 20 lbs in a month, but you should be able yo lose some!

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
I agree with everyone. You have to believe you are beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. I'm sure your FH loves you for who you are & not what you look like. But I completely understand when you are not happy with yourself.
Excersise is important for you body & mind. I agree with walking everywhere also take the stairs instead of the elevator if possible.
I would be careful about cutting out a whole food group altogether. Instead I have heard people having success with portion control. You could have whole grain carb for breakfast & then have no carbs for the rest of the day. Or eat half a baked potato rather than a whole one. I've also heard slowing down when you eat helps because it takes some time for your brain to realize you are full & by that time you have over-eaten.
I have been doing South Beach for about a year & a half and it is more a way of life rather than a 'diet'. I have several books with recipes & meal ideas. They definately recommend eating smaller meals with a small snack inbetween.
FM me if I can be any help.

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
water is probably one of the MOST important things you can do for yourself while dieting,. You need to drink about a gallon a day (not including coffee or tea), NO SODA, cut out dairy, and eat 5 times a day (every 3 hours). Just the water alone will be a BIG help!

This is great advice.... the thing that helped my friend lose the weight along with WW was doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Milchaels. I tried it and it really makes you sweat... good stuff and it lasts about 20 min.
I have a friend who did very well on nutrisystem, its different from WW in that you are told exactly what to eat - It can't hurt to try it right???

Re: so depressed don't want to get married
If your wedding is in a little more than a month I would think 10 pounds is around the most that would be healthy. Maybe go to a spa for a weekend to get you on the right path and also do some self esteem building activities. If you work out and eat healthy the next month, you will look and feel better, even if it's not your dream weight.
