So DH hands me the DVD of our wedding that his friend made......

My spirits soar..........I will now find out if some of the photos I'm worried about not having will be compensated by this video.........I can't wait...........

I pop it in and just as I press play, my heart beating a mile a minute with anticipation, DH says, 'Ted said there's a slight chance it might not--' JUST then the screen says 'Disc read error.'

DH is like, 'Oh, I'm so sorry. I should've checked it first. Ted said it worked on his equipment but he may need to get some different disc / formatting or something so that we can play it.' [This, apparently, is going to take a while now. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!]

[btw, since we splurged on certain things, we had to sacrifice in other areas, so we didn't hire a videographer. One of DH's friends has done video work and shot our wedding as their gift to us. It will be far less extensive coverage than an actual videographer but it's better than nothing.........when I can finally view it, that is!]

That's exciting Carrie Ann! Sorry the disc didn't work, but I'm sure it will be beautiful when they get all the kinks out!

We just bought a new DVD/CD player from SONY if you want to bring it over to see if it works here.

I am sorry to hear it didn't work! But if you buy a new cheapie DVD player, it might work! We had this same problem with a different home made DVD. If you have a slightly older DVD, it won't work. We went out and bought a $35 DVD player from Best Buy and it worked!! Good luck and I hope you get to see it soon!

I've had that happen. If your computer has a DVD - try it in there instead of the regular DVD player. A lot of times that works.
