So Excited!!!!!!!!!!

Well some of you already know that my boss wont let me take a honeymoon. I havent had a vacation in almost 3 years since i have worked there. Well yesterday my FH said he wants to go to a friends wedding in the bahamas in Nov and extend it for a week for a honeymoon. So i said i couldnt get the time off work, and he said we havent had a vacation in 3 years together, so tell your boss either he gives you the time off or you are quitting. Well i went to work yesterday and stood up to my boss and told him i am going away in Nov, and he said no impossible, i need you here. So i stood up to him and said, well i want a HM so then i will be no longer working here as of Nov. He was speechless and didnt say a word to me. Well after a long day of awkwardness, his friend came and visited the office and asked if i was taking a HM after the wedding and I said No, and before i could finish my boss answers, but shes taking a week off in Nov to go to the Bahamas. Then he told me that im the best biller he ever had, and it would be to hard to replace me. So i get my HM and keep my Job!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! HM here we come. Well in Nov that is.

You should check with the NY Dept of Labor and review the info. It seems odd not to have any time off. Do you receive personal time?

I get holidays and 7 sickdays, that i never take because he gets upset. Havent had a sick day since my brother passed away last year.

always good to test your job security every once in a while for you 3 years!!

Ok, you are on a roll. I'm not saying to go crazy but consider asking for a raise--maybe right after your wedding. Now that you know you can stand up to your boss!!

That thought has definately crossed my mind too!

I know how you feel..i work in a small doctors office and Im the only one who works nights and weekends and for YEARS i didnt get ANY vacations or sick days....if i WAS sick i dealt with it b/c he was a DR and would just have a 'quick remedy'

we got someone to work atleast nights with me now and now me and FH went away in OCT, JAN, & JUNE....and Im taking 2 1/2 weeks for our HM.....b/c the other girl goes away for a MONTH every summer...but its ok..cause im there also so noone has to cover her hours...well now im doing the same!!!


Im also a biller and he NEEDS me....and you haev to shove that in their faces sometimes.......so they have no choice....like you did! BRAVO!!!
