Oh you will be so happy. They are just the cutiest! Just my suggestion, purchase from a breader,,,not a pet shop. You will be happy in the long run... There are so many cute things out there with 'Pug' theme...
I am definitely using a breeder. The owner of this pet shop breeds pugs also. I am going to look around a bit. I heard from a few people not to use a pet shop. Thanks for the info.

Most of there dogs aren't breed by him, they are the ones that Selmer's Animal Store didn't want (across from HTH) also he isn't the most reputatible breeder since he doesn't try to breed out problems.
Be very careful alot of us have furrbabies from CC that have started have very bed generic problems starting that 3 years they are still super lovable though and CC finances there dogs also.
Just be careful!

I'm going to try a place called Canine Corral in Huntington. I heard they have pugs there. They told me to come in this weekend. I dont have any breeders yet though. I will be looking for some soon. None on LI huh?
I have been doing do much research latley and cant find any on long island we are going into brooklyn andif that doesnt work out there is a breeder in jersey. If you find out anything let me know.

i want a mini pug so badly! that or a beagle. were not planning on getting on until after we have the house. they are so cute... do some research on it first to see how they are...

You might want to do a search on CC on here a bunch of us have spoken of them before!
I love my puppy from there and I feel so good getting him out of there hands but I paid alot for him and didn't get the quality I was promised.
Pretty much any puppy you buy at a pet store is from some type of puppy mill orginally or done by a kitchen breeder who doesn't try to breed out flaws like real breeders do.
I found this breeder for my boss and his family when they wanted a pug and they got a black one. They couldnt be happier! He is now 6 months old, very happy and healthy. You may want to ask for the brother or sister that also breeds pugs. FM if you need more info or my boss' name as a reference.

I am by no means a puppy expert, but I do know that most pet stores do not practice selective breeding and many, many of their puppies are born with genetic birth defects that do not become apparent until a dog's maturity. You best bet for a healthy, long-lived puppy is a breeder. You can contact your local dog breed club. I did that when I bought my dog after having a german shepherd that suffered from hip dyslpasia, diabetes, blindness....and got my most recent shepherd from a breeder in Ct. Just had him x-rayed for hip dysplasia and the vet said I will never have to worry about my baby's hips! I m not saying all pet store puppies have birth defects...some people have gotten perfectly healthy puppies from pet stores, but you are taking a chance. It is best to meet the actual breeder, see the kennels and condition and personality of the parents of the puppies. Chracteristics such as temperament are also something that is passed on from 1 generation to the next, and you dont want to end up with a vicious animal down the line.... good luck!
