'I BOOKED OUR HONEYMOON'.... um... WHAT!? were you going to discuss this with me first?
well it ends up he DIDN'T book it yet.. but he was talking to his co-workers and they mentioned cruises... so he looked them up... and found one that's 7 days long.
after I asked you wonderful ladies about honeymoons a lot of you mentioned cruises... I looked a bunch up and was going to tell FH, but I'm just not sure if thats what I want to do...
see, I hate boats, I know on a cruise you 'don't realize you're on a boat' but trust me.. I will.... I get really seasick.. we went on a poker boat once, it wasn't a HUGE ship, but it was BIG.. and I took medicine (3 pills, only supposed to take 1 or 2) and well... I got REALLY REALLY REALLY sick and BEGGED the captain to call the coast guard to come get me.. he didn't. I ended up in the hospital that night because of how sick I was... so that makes me really nervous about doing a cruise for my honeymoon. but to argue myself... is 7 days enough? I was looking at 10-14 day cruises. I was hoping to honeymoon on an island and be able to come and go as I pleased... on the cruise he looked up it was 6 hours here, 8 hours there, 12 hours at another place... see I wanted to be able to go to a swim up bar, lay on the beach with a drink (with a little umbrella in it) go snorkeling/diving, do a zipline through the jungle, etc.
I just didn't want to spend my honeymoon with other people... and I'm scared if we do a cruise that's what will happen.
so, am i just looking too far into this?
the one MAJOR plus to his plan- we can go to orlando for 3-4 days prior--- and he promised we'd go to universal so I can go to THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER theme park cause I was supposed to go in July for a dance competition, but due to financial issues I can't go

You don't seem to want to do a cruise, so tell him you don't want to do a cruise.

i mean, cruises are really huge, nothing like a poker cruise type deal even if that was big. but, number one if you are turly concerned about being sic, i wouldnt risk it. also, i understand that people love cruises and you CAN go for excurisons but i too, didnt want to have to keep getting on and off and be limited to a place for 6 hours or so. i wanted a beach to lay on all day and night if i wanted and not be pressured to seeing different things, etc. I feel like on a cruise, although you can lay on the beach way you dock, the real point is that you can see a lot of different places which is awesome but if your only goal is to lay on a beach or pool and relax, you dont need a cruise for that.
i wouldnt rule them out but i see what you're saying so i would look into an all inclusive on one island as well. i also responded to your post the other day

i am a huge cruise fanatic--- love love love cruises! BUTTT
I say Don't do it!!!
I agree with you 100% about wanting to relax on your HM on a beach, swim up bar etc.. Cruises are very 'go go go' which can be great if that's what you want...
also if you get sea sick, you def do not want to risk it on your HM- altho you very well may be able to handle a huge cruise ship with or without meds, it's not something id want to chance on my HM
don't do it!!!!! JMHO!

FH gets a mild form of sea-sickness when he is on boats but he is open to the cruise idea...
I agree w. the others than booking a HM cruise can be very chancy. If I were you, I would first do a 'mini-cruise' vacation BEFORE the HM (like one of those 3 days cruises to nowhere) just so you can get an idea of what the ship will feel like. FH and I are thinking of doing a cruise this year so that we can evaluate whether we want to cruise for our HM..

I love royal caribean-thats all ive been on. its a lot of getting up and doing stuff. are there ever days at sea wheere you can relax. our last cruise we left from pr and it was a diff country each day and was a lot of work and not as relaxing. i would def recommend staying before or after. the patch is prescribed by your dr.

it doesn't sound like a cruise is such a good idea for you. i think you & your FH should sit & discuss this.

I am very biased on this because I love cruises, but if it's not what you want to do it's not what you want to do. Tell him how you feel.

Not gonna lie... you still 'feel' it on a huge cruise ship. But they do have patches and pills to take on the ship. Cruises are a lot of fun and although you do end up spending a lot of time with other people, you do get a lot of nooks for private moments and stealing sunsets. The larger the cruiseship the more options...I cruises a few times and prefer RC over others...jmo. Good luck!

I don't think you're looking too much into it at all!!! I wouldn't do it if you get that seasick, I don't think the patch will help you that much.
We got engaged on a cruise last November and I got sick even though I am usually okay if I take a pill. It was a 9 day cruise and the first 3 days I was sick and really didn't want to do much. I wouldn't want that for my Honeymoon at all!!!
If you do decide to do it try to get a room in the middle of the ship - it's supposed to be the best place for people who get sick.
