My mom and Sis/MOH are doing most of the work and paying for it, the girls are chipping in with certain things too, like making chocolates and cookies, creating cp's, etc...
And another question: Should I pretend to be surprised (my sis/moh asked me to help in the first place cause mom is a little difficult to deal with)... or should I greet the guest as they come in with a glass of champagne(that was mom's idea)?

Re: So for the shower am I suppose to
I dont think it is necessary to get gifts for them. After all we give them their gifts at the RD. However, if you want want to it is a nice idea.
I would still show up a little after the guests. I think greeting them makes it seem like you are throwing the party yourself. Like you are the host, when traditionally the mom and BM's are the host. Whether or not the bride knows about it

I would say no and no. Only be surprised if it is a surprise party (and it should say that on the invite). If not show up a half hour after the start time with a big freakin smile on your face and be all 'OMG you guys! This is amazing! Thank you so much!' And as far as gifts go--- I don't think you get gifts for these people until you give them your BP gifts.
I'm not getting my mom a gift for my shower. FH and I will get my parents a gift for their wedding help. I know all about my shower and I am not pretending to be surprised. It's not my style so I will be greeting the guests.

Re: So for the shower am I suppose to
i thought you were supposed to get the hosts at least a small thank you gift
my aunts throwing me one in texas, and i was going to buy her a new dress for the wedding (she dosn't have a lot of money) as a thank you
here i was going to get them something small too for whoever throws it

I have to agree here...that is my plan as well.

Re: So for the shower am I suppose to
I'm not going to get gifts for them at that point...it'll just be part of the BP & parent gifts that we give out at the Rehearsal Dinner.
I would say just arrive a little bit after if it's not a surprise.
