The hall 100% takes care of that. You bring these items about 3-4 days before the event with specific instructions and they set it all up!!

When I spoke with my RH they told me to neatly pack and label everything, so I believe they take care of it. But if my budget allows, I may still try and get a DOC

my banquet manager told me that as long as i drop off all of the items the day before they will take care of setting up the place cards, table #s, favor table, bathroom baskets.

its my understanding that a DOC wouldn't do those thing anyway.

I'm 99% sure our RH takes care of it, but my aunts have graciously offered to go over to the RH early in the afternoon and set up if necessary. The one thing I'm concerned about is the candy buffet- I want that set up specifically and I don't know if the RH will take care of this.

i agree. i think the DOC just makes sure that the RH took care of it right. its like a double-check.

The Banquet Manager will either delegate to the Maitre D' or do it themself. I'll make it easier for them though and at least alphabetize the cards and hand it over with a sorted list of all guests names and table assignments.

The DOC looks over everything that has been done by the RH but should also do whatever needs to be done. I'd be put off if I hired a DOC who said she wouldn't oversee these things.
