So freaked & upset!!

Ok so I've been looking for my wedding gown for months and so far none of them have given me that 'oh my god this is my gown feeling.' Theres one I liked but I'm not sure its 'the one' and I'm running out of time. I got so upset last night that I would end up with the wrong dress that I was crying & throwing up all night. Did you all know that your dress was the dress?

Don't stress! Did you look at any Casablanca dresses? Maybe I am biased, but I love Casablanca (and I LOVE my dress). It is a great quality, and it fits terrific. They have a lot off dresses with a drop waist, which are very flattering. And the prices are great! I suggest checking them out. I was lucky, and got the first dress I tried on. I did try on others, but I knew the first one was it. Hang in there - you are going to find an amazing gown that is perfect for you!!

You have time.. plenty of it. Most dresses only take four to six months to come in. Only certain dresses take up to a year. Keep going looking and if you keep going back to that one dress you know that is the one. I never had that feeling of oh god this is the one I just kept compairing every dress I tried on to this particular dress so I figured this must be the dress.

Remember I also couldn't fit in 75% of the samples so it was tough for me to pic a dress out. Now I lost weight and scared my dress won't be able to be taken in as much as I know I will need!

Don't be scared. I had a lot of trouble in this department as well. I never got the feeling all the girls on the boards talk about but I happened to have found one dress I kept thinking about. I think all these girls posting that they got 'the feeling' threw me off b/c I never felt the same way as them. It doesn't mean you didn't find your dress, trust me!

you have plenty of time!!! i got my dress 4 months before my wedding date. you just maybe have to go to other bridal shops.
i got mine at helens bridal, i loved it there!! its in commack

Dont get upset - you have plenty of time!! And dont over think it - make a list first of what you want your dress to be like. Then dont try on anything thats different from the list. If you keep trying on a million different dreses - you'll just wind up more confused. Good luck!!

I personally didn't not get that feeling of 'this is the dress'. I think it took me about a month to find the dress I bought. I knew what shape/type of dress I liked...so after awhile they all kind of looked the same. However, there were 2 dresses that stood out. I went back to try them on one more time...and made my decision. I loved them equally..but one made more sense than the other. One was lighter and less expensive. The other one was HEAVY with a big, Cinderella bottom - absolutely beautiful dress!!! After thinking about it...I decided on the less expensive one that is lighter. I wanted to dance and move around without feeling of carrying an extra 5-10 lbs (it was freakin' heavy with all the beading/crystals).

So I bought the other dress and I absolutely LOVE it. During my fittings, I knew I made the right choice.

No. I didn't get that 'This is it!' feeling. I went to 5 stores and tryed on at least 100 dresses. There was one I liked and kept trying on at each different store but because I wasn't getting that feeling I kept passing on it. After months of l;ooking the dress started creeping into my thoughts more and more. Until I finally decided that, that was the dress. I got it and I don't regret a thing. I am sure it is the perfect dress for me.

You still have plenty of time to get a gown.
I bout a Maggie dress and it only took 4 months to come in, although I alowed 8 months for delivery.

Take a deep breath and relax.
What exactly do you want your gown to look like ?
Strapless or sleeves ?
Sweetheart neckline, off the shoulder, square neckline, straight across.
A-line, mermaid styple, ballgown, pick-ups.
Lace, beading, plain.
Regular back or corset back.
Take into consideration your height and size. What do you think would look good on you ?

I went in with very concrete ideas of the dresses I wanted to try on, with pictures. 'THE' dress wound up being a dress that the saleslady brought in to show me, and it just wowed me.
It was strapless and I was adament about not trying on a strapless because I am big and well endowed.

Take some time to develop an idea of the look you want before you head out to the stores to sift thru endless racks. Look at manufacturee web sites, look at bridal magazines. Take the advise of the salesladies, after all, they are expert at it.

Dreess shopping should be a fun experience. Try it during the week when the shops are not so crowded and you are not rushed. If you have to do the weekend, then go early in the day.

I NEVER had that 'the one' feeling so don't stress yourself like that! It's okay! I tried on over 100 dresses and never had that feeling so I liked my dress the best and went with it. Dont' listen to all the hype!

You have 4 - 8 months to keep looking, so take a breath and reset your perspective.

I didn't have the 'this is it' feeling. However, I narrowed it down to 3 choices. I went to the 3 shops for one last try-on. The one I bought is the one that made me think, 'This is the last time you'll have this dress on! It's going to be discontinued, and you'll never see it again.'

I tried on over 60 gowns and literally was sick to my stomach - never thought i would find 'the one'. I was so upset that I took off from work one day and looked online - I found the dress I wanted and called all over LI and Manhattan - since it just came out I could not find it anywhere. For the fun of it, i went to the wedding salon of manhasset. showed them the pic and she was like well we just got a new shipment - all dresses are hanging there. i turned the corner and there it was! and yes, I knew after all the dresses and stomachaches, this one was the! you will find it!

First off, you have PLENTY of time. There were brides on this site who switched dresses up until a month before their wedding...so dont stress. You will find the right one!!!!

And secondly....there should never be anything during the planning process that makes you so stressed that you're crying and throwing up all night. Its only that stressful if you make it that stressful. Dont let your wedding dress (or anything else for that matter) make you sick. Trust me when I say that everything works out in the end if you just take it one step at a time. You need to relax more and let things happen without freaking out its JUST a wedding.

I agree with the other girls. I also did not have a 'wow' factor. What made me realize which dress was the one was the one that I didn't want to take off. I wasn't 'overwhelmed with emotion' or anything, I simply just wanted to stay in it a little while longer then the others.
