So today we go to an appointment with our Rabbi, whom we booked in October and after waiting for two hours for the couple before us to finish he tells us that he has bad news for us!!!! He says that our hall is not kosher enough for him and he's not going to be able to perform the ceremony!!!!!! I was shocked!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean we told him when we booked that the hall is not kosher and he said its fine!!!! And now he's telling us that he can't do it???? Apparently we were unreachable for the past 7 months since we booked him!!!! So now 7 weeks before the wedding we have to find a new rabbi!!!!!! I'm sorry but I don't even know what else to write I'm just boiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that's crazy! I also can't believe he made you wait two hours just to tell you that! He should've excused himself from the couple he was working with and given you the bad news right away. He does not seem like a very nice man.
I had been communicating with a very nice Rabbi/Cantor who isn't available on our date but may be available on your date. FM me if you want his info. I know he does a lot of inter-faith ceremonies, so I'm sure no place is 'not kosher enough' for him.

No he was so appalled by us even considering getting married there that he wouldn't even help us!!!! So now we're acting quickly to try to fix this mess ourselves

Allready forum mailed every Jewish bride I could find and then some... FH is using all of his connections (he works for a party planning company) and we called the rabbi that was recommended to us by our hall... We'll see how it all plays out

WE booked a new rabbi; he's not as strict as the first one. He was very nice and accommodating, we really enjoyed our meeting with him and booked him on the spot. I'M SOOOOO HAPPY THIS DRAMA ENDED AS SOON AS IT BEGAN!!!!

glad you found someone. . actually one of the people I had asked for you also had the kosher issue which is weird b/c it NEVER would have occured to me.. most of the folks I know are way more alternative
