So Frustrated (LONG)

So Frustrated (LONG)

FH wants to be involved in the wedding planning... or so he says...

but we don't live together and we are both very busy so most of this has stayed on my shoulders. We went to see 25 venues together. I had to do all of the leg work- setting up appointments. doing research. etc. etc. I have done so much research, so many phone calls, I had to do the invitations to our engagement party all by myself... I had to fight to get us registered before those invites went out... I have asked our bridal party to participate in our wedding, I have talked to our family members, I have found a photographer and a DJ... meanwhile, he doesnt realize how much all of this work has been that I have done on my own!!! So I ask him to discuss the budget with me, because I did it all on my own but I feel we both need to talk about it and also, I hand wrote it because excel bothers me so I asked for his help to type it up on excel. He begrudgingly helps out and when he was done he was like that was so much work yada yada complaining that it was a hard task to look at the budget on excel!! Meanwhile I have done seriously 100 tasks without him and I have 100 more I need to do and was expecting some help and am now not getting it. I'm not that mad that he's not helping, I'm more mad that he doesnt understand how hard and tiring it is... and how much I have done without him. He acts like because he hasnt done anything, I havent done anything but i have done EVERYTHING on my own. 100's of tasks and I'm not even shown any credit for it.

Hang in there sometimes FHs will never help but sometimes they will surprise you and pitch in...maybe because it's the beginning it's stressful for him as well

Hopefully he will come around or you might have to ask family members or friends to help out

Make a checklist of everything you've done and everything you need to do. Break it down as minutely as possible and physically check off everything you've done so far. This will a) help you stay organized (not that it sounds like you need that part, but FH could benefit) and b) it will visually show him how much you've done and how mucht here is to do. Men are visual. Maybe a picture will help him out. Next time you have to talk about wedding stuff, whip out the checklist.

I feel your pain with the not living together and being very busy part. When we do have spare time we both want to relax, not work on the wedding, but it must be done! Hang in there!
